Lionel Messi shared his honest thoughts when talking about Cristiano Ronaldo, who was his greatest rival for over a decade at the peak of his football career.

Messi affirmed that he and Ronaldo have always had mutual respect.

"I've always had great respect and admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo, for what he has achieved and continues to do," Messi began. "Ronaldo is still playing at the highest level, which is truly remarkable."

When asked about the rivalry between the two, Messi asserted: "That rivalry only exists on the pitch. We both want to give our best for our respective teams. Everything always stops after the final whistle."
