For Messi personally, this is his third official title in his career with Inter Miami, after the 2024 Supporters' Shield and the 2023 League Cup. In total, "El Pulga" has won 48 trophies, the most in history, far surpassing his former teammate Dani Alves with 43 titles.

This year's MLS Cup final lacked high technical quality, with most goals resulting from individual errors. Before Messi shone with two assists, Inter Miami opened the scoring thanks to an own goal by Editer Ocampo. Then, in the 60th minute, goalkeeper Novo Rios made a mistake, allowing Vancouver to equalize 1-1.

The match at Chase Stadium ended with joy for Chairman David Beckham and the Inter Miami stars. Jordi Alba, however, couldn't hold back his tears, as this was the final game of the Spanish left-back's career.
