Meta releases AI app to compete with ChatGPT

Meta says the new app "is designed to be your own personal AI" and is primarily accessed through voice chats with interactions personalized for each user.

On April 29th, Meta announced its first standalone artificial intelligence (AI) application in an effort to compete with ChatGPT, by providing users with direct access to its AI-generated models.

In a video posted on Instagram, Meta CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg said the new app "is designed to be your own AI" and will primarily be accessed through voice chats with personalized interactions for each user.

According to Meta, this new app also replaces Meta View as the companion app for Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses, allowing conversations to take place across multiple devices.

Meta's launch of AI generation comes as OpenAI continues to hold a leading position in the field of AI for direct users through its ChatGPT assistant, which is regularly updated with new features.
