Telecommunications carriers have been at the forefront of telecommunications infrastructure, but now they must take the lead in data infrastructure. Investing in data centers is a new type of investment for telecommunications carriers. Without investing here, telecommunications carriers will have no new growth space. If we don't invest here, telecommunications carriers will be replaced.
“Every three years, world data doubles. Vietnam is growing faster. Vietnam has 3 small and medium data centers, equivalent to the 39 data centers of VNPT in Hoa Lac opened today. Thus, every year we must inaugurate at least 15 centers like this to basically meet Vietnam's data needs," Minister Nguyen Manh Hung said.
Also according to the head of the Ministry of Information and Communications, Vietnam still does not have a large data center. VNPT's data center in Hoa Lac has a capacity of 2.000 racks, which is medium-sized. A large center has at least 5.000 racks. Carriers still don't have a big enough vision of data.
