According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City and Chairwoman of the City Women's Union, the strong development of digital technology brings many opportunities to the community, but also poses a major challenge in ideological guidance, especially for women and children, who are vulnerable to harmful and fraudulent information on social media. Based on this reality, the City Women's Union has identified the building of positive and official information as an important task, contributing to raising the awareness of its members and strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation in cyberspace.
Implementing the "Greening Positive Information" model, the City Women's Union has built a synchronized communication system from the city level to the grassroots. After more than a year of implementation, the model has created a clear transformation in communication work. Previously, access to information was mainly through meetings, but now members can update information anytime, anywhere via smartphones. Currently, the City Women's Union maintains one website, one fanpage, over 100 Facebook pages, and over 500 Zalo groups to serve communication work and connect members. From the beginning of 2026 to the present, the City Women's Union has published more than 13,560 news articles on the Party's guidelines, State policies and laws, digital transformation, gender equality, etc., with more than 228,620 cadres and members sharing the information.
To improve the quality of the model, the Women's Union at all levels in the city has sent more than 560 cadres to participate in training on news writing skills, safe use of social media, designing communication content, and interacting in cyberspace. Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Chan, President of the Women's Union of Chau Thanh commune, said: "We focus on building concise, easily accessible communication content, linked to practical issues in the lives of our members and women. This is also a way for the Union to create cohesion and strengthen the trust of women in the organization."
The daily dissemination of positive information, guided by the principle of "building" to "counter" and "using beauty to overcome ugliness," by the Women's Union at all levels in the city contributes to effectively shaping public opinion, strengthening the trust of cadres and members in the Party, the State, and the Union; and simultaneously creating high social consensus on major issues of the country and the locality. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh affirmed: "In the digital age, protecting the ideological foundation of the Party cannot be confined to meeting halls or traditional activities, but must be strongly present in cyberspace - where people access information every day."
Thanks to its proactive and practical implementation, the "Greening Positive Information" model has become an effective "soft shield" in cyberspace. The model not only protects women members from harmful and toxic information but also contributes to the strong dissemination of humanitarian values.
