Mourinho hopes to manage Bayern.

According to Bild, coach Jose Mourinho is learning German in the hope of being chosen to lead Bayern Munich to win the Bundesliga title.

After winning the Portuguese league, the Premier League, Serie A, and La Liga, Mourinho has ambitions to win another top European league title: the Bundesliga. Bayern Munich is considered the 61-year-old coach's next target, so he is closely monitoring the team's situation.

Another former Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel, led Bayern to a Bundesliga title last season after replacing Julian Nagelsmann mid-season. However, this season the "Bavarian giants" are five points behind league leaders Leverkusen. If they don't improve their form soon, Tuchel's future will be uncertain.

This isn't the first time Mourinho has targeted the Bayern Munich coaching job. In 2021, CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge told RAI Sports that the Portuguese coach had offered to manage Bayern a few years earlier. "However, at the time we didn't think Mourinho was a good fit for Bayern. Personally, I have a good impression of Mourinho and hope he succeeds at Roma," Rummenigge said.

Former Bayern Munich honorary president Franz Beckenbauer once called Mourinho "uneducated" in 2011, not long after he led Inter to a 2-0 victory over Bayern in the Champions League final. Beckenbauer passed away in early 2024, and Rummenigge has now been promoted to the board of directors of Germany's most traditional club.

Mourinho led Roma to the Conference League title in his first season, and then guided the team to the Europa League final. However, Roma's poor performance in Serie A this season led to the "Special One's" dismissal, making way for club legend Daniele de Rossi.

Arab media previously reported that Mourinho would manage Al Shabab in the Saudi Pro League, but he denied this information. However, the Portuguese coach still wants to return to coaching as soon as possible.

The record for a coach leading a team to victory in five of Europe's top leagues belongs to Carlo Ancelotti, who won titles with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Milan, Bayern, and PSG.
