Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh's family (Thanh Sen ward) has three young children who have just finished the school year and are entering their summer vacation. Learning from previous years when the children spent too much time on phones and computers, this summer he decided to enroll them in soft skills classes so they can learn and play in a healthy way.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thanh shared: “Learning from last year's experience, where children used phones and computers too much, this summer I want my child to learn more soft skills so that they can have a fun and beneficial environment while developing their talents. Currently, I am searching for centers through social media and also consulting with friends to enroll my child in suitable classes.”

It's not just Mr. Thanh; many parents are also proactively seeking summer classes to help their children limit their exposure to electronic devices and avoid unhealthy games. Observations at skill training centers offering courses such as MC training, vocal music, music, and dance show a significant increase in the number of parents registering their children compared to before.

At the Gmusic Art Training Center (Thanh Sen Ward), in just the past few weeks, the number of students registering has increased two to three times compared to the same period last year. MC and vocal classes maintain 5-6 students per class; dance classes have around 15 students, operating continuously from morning to evening to meet the demand for summer classes.

Ms. Trinh Hong Nhung, Director of Gmusic Art Training Center (Thanh Sen Ward), said: “Due to the high number of students, we have flexibly arranged many classes from morning to evening to make it easier for parents to choose, while still ensuring the quality of training. Currently, the center has 10 main teachers and is recruiting more assistant teachers. Although it is only the beginning of summer, many parents have already registered their children for classes throughout June, July, and August. To date, the number of students has reached about 100.”

The increased demand has also led to the opening of many new facilities and classes to meet the needs of parents and students.

Mr. Ho Van Tiep, owner of the "Liberation" art class, shared: “The demand for drawing and painting classes during the summer is very high among parents, so I decided to open the "Liberation" art class to help students have an environment to practice their drawing skills. Although newly opened, the class currently has about 50 students registered and is still accepting more students. The class will help students develop from basic to advanced skills, increase their creativity and confidence in expressing themselves.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuan (Thanh Sen ward) said: “Since the beginning of summer, I have researched many skills classes and chose drawing for my child because I found it suitable. Drawing not only helps develop creative thinking but also hones concentration and observation skills. When I brought my child to experience it, I saw that the class was very crowded and the children were quite enthusiastic.”

Not only in Thanh Sen ward, but also in many other localities in the province, summer skills classes are taking place actively. According to training centers, parents nowadays are not only interested in academic learning but are increasingly focusing on developing soft skills for their children. Therefore, many summer programs are designed in a "learn while playing" approach, enhancing practical experiences to create enthusiasm for students.
Nguyen Kim Ngan (from Bac Hong Linh ward) shared: “During the summer break, my mother enrolled me in dance classes with my friends, and I found it very enjoyable. These classes also helped me become more confident and make many new friends.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Khanh Ly – representative of Ut Ly Art Center (Nam Hong Linh ward) added: “This year, the center has opened two more branches to meet the summer learning needs of children. Currently, the center offers dance, modeling, and flexibility classes for various age groups. We have also updated our curriculum, promoted group activities and public performances to help children become more confident.”
An active and enriching summer is becoming a popular choice for many families today. Not only do summer classes help children reduce their screen time, but they also contribute to building confidence, independence, and overall well-rounded development after each holiday.
