The new peach blossom season on the mountain slopes.

With the Lunar New Year 2026 fast approaching, the weather, with its gentle breezes and light rain, is very favorable for the peach blossom trees in Mo Ga hamlet, Vo Nhai commune, to sprout, bud, and bloom. Thus, after many days of hard work, the people of Mo Ga are entering a new flower harvest season.

For over a month now, the peach blossom trees in Mo Ga, Vo Nhai have been pruned, awaiting a new flush of buds.

The new flowering season heralds the arrival of spring.

The light drizzle and gentle chill did not diminish the beauty of the peach blossoms in Mo Ga. On the contrary, the trees seemed to burst with life in the arrival of spring. Many peach trees have already bloomed with vibrant, thick-petaled flowers. According to locals, peach blossoms have taken root in Mo Ga for more than 10 springs. From the early days when they were still unfamiliar with propagation and care, in the last 5 years, as they focused on developing the area into a flower village, the peach growers in Mo Ga have become intimately familiar with the characteristics of this type of flower.

Mr. Hoang Van Giang, a long-time peach blossom grower in Mo Ga, shared: "Peach blossoms only fetch a good price when they bloom right around Tet (Lunar New Year). This is why we have to inhibit the growth of the trees, create flower bud differentiation, encourage bud development, and adjust the flowering time to coincide with Tet. This year, the weather is quite warm and Tet is later, so we stripped the leaves and controlled the flowering to be about a month later than last year. After about 1 to 1.5 months of leaf stripping, the peach branches have now budded on schedule. During the care process, if we see the peach blossoms developing too quickly, we also prune some of the roots to limit growth and prolong the time it takes for the flower buds to form."

Unlike the "purebred" pink peach blossoms, in Mo Ga, flower growers have grafted peach blossom varieties from Nhat Tan village onto local pink peach blossoms or pale pink peach blossoms. Through grafting and care, these peach trees have produced a truly unique flower: abundant buds and blossoms, very large flowers; thick and firm petals; and a color that is not as vibrant red as the "purebred" pink peach blossoms, but has a very unusual and beautiful pink hue... Perhaps the soil and climate are advantages that make the pink peach blossoms in Mo Ga so beautiful. But the love of flowers, the diligence, and the hard work of the people here are also contributing factors that make the peach orchards so full of buds and blossoms.

According to our own figures, around 30 households in Mo Ga are growing peach blossoms for Tet (Vietnamese Lunar New Year). Some households plant only about 50 to 100 trees, while others plant 150 to 200. In good years, each tree can sell for 400,000 to 800,000 VND. Large, beautiful trees with many flowers and buds can fetch 1 to 1.2 million VND. After deducting expenses, each tree can yield a profit of 200,000 to 700,000 VND.

This year, the peach blossoms are blooming beautifully, just in time for the season. From the 5th day of the 12th lunar month of 2025, many people have been flocking to peach blossom gardens in Mo Ga to choose the most beautiful trees. The villagers are busy preparing for the upcoming Tet peach blossom season with much hope.

May the peach blossoms remain ever fresh.

As a symbol of spring, peach blossoms have become an indispensable flower in every Vietnamese home, especially in Thai Nguyen, during the spring season. Therefore, growing peach blossoms for sale during Tet (Lunar New Year) has long been a lucrative profession for farmers. Some famous peach blossom growing villages such as Nhat Tan ( Hanoi ); Cam Gia and Gia Sang (Thai Nguyen) have become familiar destinations for flower lovers.

The people of Mo Ga, Vo Nhai, diligently cultivate their peach blossom trees to ensure they bloom just in time for the Lunar New Year.

However, Mỏ Gà's unique beauty, with its majestic limestone mountains, lush fruit orchards, and vibrant peach blossom gardens, has attracted many visitors from far and wide. Besides admiring the scenery and enjoying delicious fruits like mountain-grown pomelos and custard apples, visitors can also freely choose their favorite peach blossom branches to take home and decorate their homes during the Tet holiday.

The feeling of admiring the pink peach blossoms mixed with the pale pink peach blossoms right on the hillside is wonderful. However, the pink peach blossom cultivation profession in Mo Ga is "shaking," with many households switching from growing pink peach blossoms to growing fruit trees...

Despite weather and market fluctuations, the families who have persevered in the risky flower farming profession in Mo Ga are the most resilient.

Hoang Ngoc Tu, one of the young flower enthusiasts diligently pursuing the profession of growing peach blossoms in Mo Ga, shared: "In some years, the weather is harsh, with severe cold and frost, causing the flowers to bloom late. After Tet (Lunar New Year) has passed, flower growers have to sadly watch their flowers wither in the garden and hope that the next year's harvest will be more favorable. In years with unusually hot weather, the peach blossoms bloom half a month earlier than usual, forcing growers to sell the trees they have painstakingly cultivated all year at a low price."

To ensure that peach blossoms remain vibrant and that peach blossom growers on the mountain slopes can confidently pursue their beloved work, creating sustainable economic value, alongside the efforts of the people, support from local authorities and relevant agencies is still essential. While Thai Nguyen has supported farmers in promoting and selling agricultural products, assisting flower growers in bringing their products to market during the Lunar New Year is also a worthwhile and feasible endeavor.

It's time for flower growers to change their mindset. Peach blossoms shouldn't just be enjoyed during the Lunar New Year holidays; they can be used in flower arrangements like other flowers from the beginning of the twelfth lunar month of the previous year until the end of the first lunar month of the following year. This approach will help peach blossoms sell like many other popular flowers in traditional markets, and the market for them will be more favorable…
