New Autumn, revolutionary lands in Nghe An celebrate new spirit

On this historic Autumn day, all over Nghe An countryside is bustling with a new spirit. The belief and aspiration to rise up spread, blending with the joyful atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2. In the places that rose up early to take power into the hands of the people 80 years ago, that spirit is even more evident.

In August, the roads in the border commune of Mon Son are bright with the red flag with yellow star. The sun gilds the fields, mountains, and rivers. The countryside of "The cradle of the revolution in the Western region of Nghe An" is bustling with joy in the atmosphere of welcoming the great festival of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, welcoming the success of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of Mon Son commune, term 2025 - 2030.

At the National Revolutionary Historical Site of Mr. Vi Van Khang's house (Thai Hoa village), there are union members, youths, and people in the commune who come here to clean, sanitize, and take care of the fruit garden. Ms. Ha Thi Huong - Vice President of the Fatherland Front Committee, Secretary of the Youth Union of Mon Son commune shared: For many years, Mr. Vi Van Khang's house has been a "red address" for young generations of the commune and remote areas of Nghe An to come to study and nurture their patriotism and revolutionary spirit.

94 years ago, at the house of Mr. Vi Van Khang, the Mon Son Party Cell - the first Party cell was established in the mountainous area of Nghe An. The Party cell was established and led the revolutionary movement to many victories. During the August Revolution of 1945, the Viet Minh base in Mon Son commune proactively contacted the Viet Minh General Committee in Anh Son district (old) to successfully launch an uprising to seize power on August 23, 1945, earlier than the seizure of power in the district capital.

During these days, Mon Son has many new joys. The happiest are the 240 Dan Lai people in the two villages of Khe Bung and Co Phat (living in the core zone of Pu Mat National Park). After many generations of “running away”, “sleeping sitting up” to avoid wild animals, and living temporarily in the deep forests and mountains, the Dan Lai people here have been granted land use rights certificates, and have received help from the Party and the State to build solid houses to settle down.

Mr. La Van Thanh, 90 years old, a Dan Lai resident in Bung village happily shared: “Previously, because we lived in the National Park, we could not get a land use right certificate. Now the State has created conditions for us to build houses. Thanks to the Party and the State. Dan Lai residents now have land, houses, and something to leave to their children and grandchildren…”.

According to comrade Pham Manh Hung - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Mon Son commune: After 1 week of operating the 2-level government, the new Mon Son commune (merged from Luc Da and the old Mon Son) has coordinated with departments and branches to complete the procedures for land allocation and housing support for Dan Lai people. At this time, Mon Son commune is urgently planning public investment for the period 2026-2030. With the investment of the State, in the near future, key projects will continue to be implemented in the area. Thereby, creating many opportunities to exploit the potentials and advantages of the locality such as developing eco-tourism, community tourism; creating conditions for Dan Lai people in particular and Mon Son commune in general to develop comprehensive socio -economic development associated with firmly protecting border security.

New faith and new spirit are like a cool breeze blowing over the Giang River and Muong Qua fields. At the Noong Bua community tourism site, Thai women are enthusiastically practicing folk songs and dances praising the Party, Uncle Ho, the beauty of their homeland and country... ready for the upcoming happy days of welcoming visitors from near and far.

Firm faith

Not only Mon Son commune, in these days, all localities in the province have been filled with new vitality. In the new Nam Dan commune (the merging of 3 communes Nam Thanh, Nghia Thai, Nam Hung), village roads and alleys are paved with asphalt and concrete, spacious and neat. The local environment is guaranteed to be green - clean - beautiful. The appearance of the countryside, economic infrastructure, and people's lives have made remarkable progress compared to before.

This historic August, the commune's radio system still resounds to remind us of the heroic cultural and revolutionary traditions of our homeland: In the past, the Party cell and people of Thanh Thuy commune (the old name of Nam Thanh commune) fought bravely, together creating the Nghe Tinh Soviet revolutionary high tide of 1930-1931, the democratic movement of 1936-1939, forming the commune's Viet Minh Front Committee and the National Salvation Association organizations to carry out the General Uprising, gaining the first government of Nghe An in the August Revolution of 1945.

Reviewing the past to determine to "do" something new, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam (38 years old), in Nam Dan commune, cannot help but be proud of his hometown's tradition: Thanks to the Party, revolutionary predecessors, and heroic martyrs, we have an independent, peaceful, and happy Vietnam; a Nghe An, Nam Dan developed like today. "Old bamboo, young shoots grow", we, the next generation, have great confidence in the leadership of the Party, the State as well as the team of cadres of the province and commune. We are determined to implement well the policies, guidelines, and strategies to build our Nam Dan commune richer and more beautiful.

At this time, the semi-mountainous commune of Nam Dan has just completed the first Party Congress of the commune. The entire village and hamlet is eagerly entering a new "opportunity". Comrade Nguyen Duy Thao - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Dan commune said: In the 2025-2030 term, Nam Dan commune will strive to promote internal strength, arouse the aspirations and will to rise of the Party Committee and the people... Determined to build Nam Dan commune to meet the standards of a model new rural area in terms of landscape and environment.

Also according to comrade Nguyen Duy Thao: In the coming time, Nam Dan commune will focus on developing experiential tourism, developing cuisine associated with regional linkage; preparing the best conditions to attract investment in eco-tourism, experience, developing local culinary brands... This is the new viewpoint and orientation to promote rapid and sustainable economic growth./.
