Water levels on the Truoi River, O Lau River, and other rivers are fluctuating at high levels, causing flooding, flash floods, landslides, and mudslides. Over the past 6 hours, very heavy and exceptionally heavy rain has fallen in the communes of Long Quang, Nam Dong, Khe Tre, Loc An, Phu Loc, Thuong Nhat, and the upstream area of Ta Trach reservoir; total rainfall ranges from 200 to 300 mm.
Forecasts indicate that rain will spread across the entire city of Hue over the next 3 to 6 hours; particularly heavy rain is expected in the communes mentioned above. The influx of water into major rivers is causing water levels to rise. The water level of the Perfume River at Kim Long is 2.26m, 0.26m above alarm level 2. The water level of the Bo River at Phu Oc is 3.86m, 0.64m below alarm level 3.
On November 2nd, thousands of people from various forces including the army, police, youth union, and organizations in Hue City continued their urgent efforts to mitigate the consequences of the exceptionally heavy rains and floods that occurred in late October. The forces prioritized environmental sanitation in the city center, key transportation routes, medical facilities, schools, deeply flooded residential areas, and public infrastructure.
Authorities at all levels, organizations, associations, and philanthropists have been and continue to show concern and provide both material and spiritual support to people in areas affected by floods; promptly helping people overcome difficulties and gradually stabilize their lives.
