University tuition fees have increased by approximately 10%, with some schools doubling their fees.

According to regulations, starting from the 2025-2026 academic year, university tuition fees will be adjusted according to a specific ceiling for each group of majors.

The ceiling (highest amount that can be collected) for the 2026-2027 school year is 1.71 to 3.5 million VND per month, applicable to non-autonomous public schools. Autonomous schools, depending on the level of autonomy, may charge tuition fees 2-2.5 times higher than the ceiling.

With accredited programs, schools have the autonomy to determine tuition fees.

Compared to the previous year, most schools have increased tuition fees by around 10%. Some schools have seen even higher increases.

University tuition fees are one of the important factors that prospective students and their parents consider when choosing a school and major.

While most universities are increasing tuition fees, the Ministry of Education and Training is submitting to the Government a draft Decree stipulating scholarship policies for students in basic sciences, key engineering, and strategic technologies, specifically STEM scholarships, to support STEM students in the 2026 university admissions season. The policy is expected to be implemented from September 1, 2026.

Mr. Huynh Van Chuong, Director of the Quality Management Department (Ministry of Education and Training), noted that this is an opportunity for candidates to consider and choose subjects suitable for their preferred majors, while also increasing their chances of accessing scholarships.

According to regulations, candidates will register, adjust, and supplement their application preferences from July 2nd to 5 PM on July 14th, 2026. During this period, candidates are allowed to make multiple changes; however, it is important to complete the entire process before the deadline to ensure their eligibility for admission.

From July 15th to 5 PM on July 21st, 2026, candidates must pay the application fee online according to the number of registered preferences.
