DNVN - From November 7-8, the National Innovation Center (NIC), in collaboration with the Semiconductor Association (SEMI), organized the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2024 – SEMIExpo Viet Nam 2024 with the theme "Elevating Vietnam in the Global Semiconductor Supply Chain" at the NIC, Hoa Lac campus.
According to Mr. Vu Quoc Huy, Director of NIC, organizing the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2024 (SemiExpo Viet Nam 2024) is a proactive step by the Ministry of Planning and Investment to fulfill the tasks outlined in the Semiconductor Industry Development Strategy and the Human Resource Development Program for the Semiconductor Industry, both approved by the Government.
Held for the first time in Vietnam, SEMIExpo Viet Nam 2024 will attract participation from major semiconductor technology corporations worldwide and in Vietnam such as: Global Foundries, Amkor, AMD, Lam Research, Coherent, Cadence, KLA, Synopsys, Intel, Marvell, Onsemi Qorvo,FPT ... The event is expected to attract approximately 5,000 delegates.
By participating in SEMIExpo Viet Nam 2024, organizations and businesses have the opportunity to promote the business environment, investment opportunities, and development of the semiconductor industry in Vietnam; and to connect Vietnamese and foreign businesses in the semiconductor sector for investment and business opportunities.
Simultaneously, we will update ourselves on the latest technological trends in the semiconductor industry worldwide , applying AI in integrated circuit design; and engage in dialogue with state management agencies to promote the development of the semiconductor industry's ecosystem and workforce.
The event will also connect and provide scholarship information for students studying semiconductors; and develop talent and human resources for the industry.
Over the two days of the exhibition, there will be conferences, exhibitions, seminars, business networking programs, and industry networking sessions such as: the forum "Elevating Vietnam in the Global Semiconductor Supply Chain"; the Vietnam Semiconductor Industry Exhibition 2024; the seminar "Global Semiconductor Equipment Market: Opportunities for Vietnam's Manufacturing Industry"; the forum "Global Cooperation in Human Resource Development for the Semiconductor Industry"; and a training program for Vietnamese students.
"SemiExpo Vietnam 2024 will promote international cooperation to mobilize resources for the development of the semiconductor industry, connect investment and business between domestic and foreign enterprises to develop a supporting industrial ecosystem, and attract investment from leading global corporations and enterprises in the semiconductor sector," Mr. Huy emphasized.
According to Linda Tan, President of SEMI Southeast Asia, SEMIExpo Vietnam 2024 is an important event for Vietnam as it is an emerging country in the global semiconductor supply chain.
“With strong government support and a focus on developing a robust semiconductor ecosystem, Vietnam is poised to make a significant contribution to the global supply chain. This event serves as a platform for collaboration, innovation, and strategic partnerships.”
SEMI hopes to contribute to the next phase of growth for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian region,” said Linda Tan.
