Foundation and driving force for social development

After the merger, Lao Cai became a convergence of over 30 ethnic groups and branches, creating an extremely rich and unique cultural picture. The numbers: 4 representative intangible cultural heritages of humanity, 56 national heritages and nearly 100 unique festivals and rituals have demonstrated the cultural richness of a border province. Each heritage not only nurtures the spiritual life of the community but also affirms the unique identity of each ethnic group, becoming the foundation and driving force for social development.

To preserve and spread traditional cultural values, great credit belongs to the team of artisans - the "living treasures" of the community. They are passionate about researching, collecting and teaching the next generation with all their love for national culture. From songs, dances, rituals to instruments such as strings, drums, panpipes...

Artisan Lam Quang Cua, Trung Do village, Bao Nhai commune is one of 38 excellent artisans of the province. He has participated in many major cultural events, especially in Korea to exchange, introduce and promote Vietnamese culture, including Then singing and Tinh lute of the Tay people. Currently, he is still diligently preserving and conserving the traditional Tinh lute making craft of the Tay people and teaching it to the young generation of his hometown.

Cultural vitality is also clearly demonstrated through the network of clubs, art and sports teams in all localities in the province. The Bac Ha Mong Panpipe Club is one of more than 2,000 cultural and art clubs in the province. The club was established in 2020 with 34 members. They are people who share a passion for Mong ethnic culture and the panpipe... The club is responsible for performing at Bac Ha night market every Saturday night and actively participates in local art programs every year. Up to now, the club has opened classes and taught hundreds of teenagers and children every year.

Cultural and artistic clubs such as the Bac Ha Mong Panpipe Club have contributed to connecting the community, joining hands to preserve culture, and building a civilized society.

We appreciate the awareness of preserving traditional culture of localities, clubs, art troupes, especially artisans. They are very conscious of passing on to the younger generation to preserve national culture. Thanks to them, traditional culture of the nation is extended, intact and effectively promoted.

Entering a new development phase, Lao Cai continues to affirm its strategic orientation, which is "Promoting the cultural strength and people of Lao Cai to become an endogenous source of strength and driving force for development" and developing in the direction of "Green, harmonious, unique, happy". This is not only the responsibility of the entire political system but also the mission of each citizen, so that culture will forever be the foundation and sustainable driving force, making Lao Cai a destination rich in identity, prosperous and happy.
