Wat Samphran has a unique appearance and is sure to surprise you with its impressive architecture and grand scale.

"Wat" means temple, and "samphran" is the name of the place where the temple is located. Wat Samphran was built in 1985 in Samphran district, Nakhon Pathom province, about 40 km west of Bangkok, Thailand.

Unlike the tapering tower designs of other temples, Wat Samphran is built in a cylindrical shape like a massive skyscraper with 17 floors, 80m high, painted in eye-catching pink and arched windows, giving us the feeling of being lost in a colorful fairy tale world .

The image of a dragon surrounding the building remains an unsolved mystery to this day.

According to This Is Colossal , a website specializing in design and art, the temple's unusual architecture was the idea of a Buddhist monk named Bhavana Buddho. The monk thought about it for a week and after meditating, the image of the temple appeared in his mind.

The temple was later built over five years following that idea, with a height of 80 metres to represent the age of the Buddha when he died. The dragon is the staircase leading to the top of the building.

The image of a giant blue dragon made of iron and fiberglass, strong, winding, surrounding from the body to the top of the tower, carrying authority, is what attracts tourists the most as well as exuding the inherent sacredness of the temple.

However, this structure gradually deteriorated. Therefore, a separate tunnel and elevator were added to serve visitors.

The temple is located in the middle of a green garden of ancient trees, so it always has an airy and cool space. In addition, its location in the suburbs of Bangkok allows visitors from all over to enjoy an extremely peaceful, quiet and serene atmosphere.
