According to the Federal Security Service (FSB), in February, Yury Denisov traveled from Kyiv through Latvia, then entered Russia. He supplied the explosives used in the bombing that assassinated Russian military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky. After carrying out the bombing, he left Russia in early April.
The FSB stated that on April 2nd, Yury Denisov used an intermediary to deliver the bomb to Darya Trepova, the woman who brought the explosive device to a cafe in St. Petersburg where Russian military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky was holding a talk.

The bomb exploded, killing Russian military blogger Vladlen Tatarsky and injuring dozens of others. Yury Denisov left Russia the following day, traveling through Armenia and Türkiye.
Before carrying out the assassination, Yury Denisov was in the Moscow region. Russia has issued an international arrest warrant for the suspect.
According to FSB footage, the suspect used his Ukrainian driver's license and altered personal information to purchase a used car in Moscow. This was intended to mislead and bypass customs controls at the Russian border.
Russian authorities described the bombing as an " act of terrorism" and blamed Ukrainian intelligence agencies for orchestrating the event.
Vladlen Tatarsky (real name Maksim Fomin), 40 years old, is a supporter of Russia's military campaign in Ukraine and regularly reports on the fighting from the front lines on his Telegram channel. He also reports directly from the Ukrainian battlefield. In addition, he has written several books on the subject of this conflict.
On the evening of April 2nd, a bomb exploded while he was meeting with supporters at a cafe in downtown Saint Petersburg. The explosion killed him and injured more than 30 people.
Vladlen Tatarsky is originally from Donbass. He joined the militias that opposed the Ukrainian army after the 2014 coup in Kyiv.
