Admire the paintings of Dang Thi Duong, Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong, and Nguyen Anh Dao in 'Wandering in the Land of Memories'.

Always humble, seeing themselves as just three small flowers painting: Dang Thi Duong (water lily), Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong (sunflower), and Nguyen Anh Dao (cherry blossom), they aspire to connect the emotional flow bestowed by nature through their journeys through memories, creating works like dreamy "muses" in a grand exhibition that has just opened.

Viewers enjoyed admiring the works of the three artists.

Wandering through realms of memories imbued with poetic charm, it seems to hold the viewer's footsteps captive.

The exhibition at the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association features 60 works by three artists, including oil paints, lacquers, acrylics, and watercolors. All are the result of the artists' international exchange trips to France, India, Mongolia, and other countries, as well as annual art camps in Vietnam organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association.

"Together, we experienced and enjoyed ourselves through beautiful lands and unique cultures. These new and wonderful places left us with many impressions and are a wealth of memories to cherish over the years. These beautiful places are not only a source of inspiration but also a source of energy for the group to recreate moments of tranquility and peace in our paintings. Each brushstroke is a realistic image of life in leisure and harmony with nature. My paintings are not just imagination, but also a way of expressing gratitude for the beautiful things life has given us," artist Nguyen Anh Dao confided.

For artist Dang Thi Duong, her love of art is ingrained in her very being. "From my elementary and high school years, I was fascinated by drawing naive images to illustrate all my lessons, from natural history to love poems by French literary giants like Lamartine and Verlaine… Later, my drawings caught the eye of Mrs. Raoult, a drawing professor at Marie Curie School, so I was selected for her special class, allowing me to learn drawing and study sculptures under her guidance," artist Dang Thi Duong recounted.

But it wasn't until after 1975 that Dang Thi Duong took the entrance exam and was admitted to the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts, officially pursuing the artistic path she had always dreamed of. Then, the years of diligent research leading to her master's degree in art proved very beneficial for her creative work, as she passionately explored new techniques and materials to improve her skills.

Art critic Ly Doi commented: "All three artists love nature, but nature comes to each of them differently. Their ways of expressing it are even more different."

Artist Dang Thi Duong shared: "My love for nature has drawn me to my favorite subjects, and paintings imbued with the breath of life have been born from exciting life experiences. Therefore, the two abilities of teaching and artistic creation always go hand in hand within me."

Viewing Dang Thi Duong's paintings, artist Uyen Huy commented: "Her forte is oil paint, and the visual language in her paintings has a very distinct and unique character. The imagery in her paintings doesn't follow the trends of realism, impressionism, symbolism, or descriptive realism, but rather comes from people, landscapes, and animals with a naive, whimsical, decorative, playful, and expansive spirit, which I really enjoy."

Artist Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong is a rather special figure, becoming "extremely famous" around 2004. For nearly 20 years, considering the generations of artists born in the 1960s and later, Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong (born in 1975) has been one of the best-selling artists in Vietnam.

In "Wandering Through Memories ," viewers encounter artist Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong, still brimming with creative passion, as he says, "I can play with colors all day without getting bored." He explains, "I'm an artist who likes to work based on intuition, emotion, and feeling, so I let everything flow naturally, following my emotions and sudden thoughts. I don't have any specific plans for the future yet. For me, emotion and feeling when painting are quite important. Nurturing emotions so that inspiration flourishes in my work is what I truly desire."

All the paintings by the three artists are the result of international exchange trips to France, India, Mongolia, and other countries, as well as art camps in Vietnam organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Arts Association.

Dang Thi Duong often paints scenes from the places she visits, with a fairytale-like, whimsical, and imaginative perspective. Nguyen Anh Dao conveys the feelings of a woman about life. And Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong paints her homeland "from within."

Art critic Ly Doi commented: "All three artists love nature, but nature comes to each of them differently. Their ways of expressing it are even more different.
