To avoid transaction disruptions on Mobile Banking, banks have recently sent notifications requesting corporate customers to contact the nearest bank branch for assistance in updating their biometric information on the Mobile Banking application. In cases where Internet Banking transactions are interrupted due to the lack of biometric information, customers are requested to contact the nearest branch for assistance in completing the transaction at the counter. These biometric authentication regulations apply to both corporate and individual customers.
According to new regulations on identity verification, from January 1, 2026, banks will disable all transaction features on Mobile Banking and Internet Banking for users who have not synchronized their identification information and biometric data according to the standards of the National Population Database. Specifically, three cases will be subject to temporary suspension of online transactions from January 1, 2026: Customers still using 9-digit ID cards and not yet switching to chip-embedded citizen identification cards in the bank's database; customers whose personal documents have expired but have not updated their information; and customers who have not collected biometric data, or whose biometric data does not match the information on the chip-embedded citizen identification card.
