Ngu Tu Tu is a role in the ancient opera Giang Son My Nhan by the late artist Bach Mai. This is the play in which artist Vu Linh made an impression with the character Ngo Phu Sai.

In the play Giang Son My Nhan by the Huynh Long Traditional Opera Troupe performed on the nights of May 17 and 18, Ngan Tuan shared the role of Ngu Tu Tu with Huu Quoc. Huu Quoc performed the first part, and he played the second part.

Wu Zixu was the adoptive father of Wu Fuchai and an important minister of Wu. He was the one who saw through the beauty plot of King Goujian of Yue to assassinate Wu Fuchai and Wu.

However, Wu Fuchai was so infatuated with Xi Shi (a spy from Viet), he neglected his vigilance and ignored all of Wu Zixu's advice.

Wu Zixu was so depressed and faced with the prospect of his country being lost that he chose death.

With the character Ngu Tu Tu, artist Ngan Tuan once included an excerpt from Giang Son My Nhan in his own live show that took place in December 2024.

That time, to show gratitude to artist Vu Linh for teaching him this role, director Huu Quoc arranged for Ngan Tuan to perform interactively with the screen. On it was an image of artist Vu Linh in the role of Ngo Phu Sai. That was the performance that Ngan Tuan was most satisfied with as a way to show gratitude and remind him of the beautiful memories of the brother that Ngan Tuan loved.

However, that was just an excerpt. This time, it seemed like it had been a long time since Ngan Tuan had the chance to play the role of Ngu Tu Tu in the full play Giang Son My Nhan .

He expressed his happiness because this is a role that requires inner strength. It requires the artist to act out the character's toxic essence. That is, the role must make people both hate and sympathize.

Thanks to Mr. Nam Vu Linh, I got the memorable role of the old man.

Ngan Tuan confided that when he was in his twenties, he "specialized" in playing handsome male roles, but unexpectedly Vu Linh offered him the role of Ngu Tu Tu. This offer made Ngan Tuan lose sleep and hesitate to make a decision. Then finally, with Vu Linh's encouragement, he accepted the role.

The role of Ngu Tu Tu was the first old man role of the young actor Ngan Tuan at that time.

In the following days, thanks to Vu Linh's dedicated instruction on voice, singing, gait, and performance to properly express the qualities of the old - unique - fragrant actor, Ngan Tuan became more confident.

He remembers the days when he and Mr. Nam Vu Linh sat down to calculate, enrich, and add dialogue, actions, and performance to make the character more complete and impressive.

For Ngan Tuan, the role of Ngu Tu Tu is not only a memorable character in his career journey but also a beautiful and affectionate memory of his older brother Vu Linh that he cherishes.
