The sluggish real estate market, coupled with rising production costs and demands for sustainable development, has significantly impacted the consumption and business of the cement industry.
According to Dr. Tran Ba Viet, Vice President of the Vietnam Concrete Association, Vietnam currently produces and consumes approximately 140 million cubic meters of concrete and 60 million tons of cement annually. In the future, domestic demand will reach 100 million tons of cement per year, with a corresponding volume of approximately 250 million cubic meters of concrete per year.
Although considered a sector with great development potential, according to Dr. Tran Ba Viet, the cement and concrete industry is facing many difficulties and challenges due to the frozen real estate market, declining public investment leading to slower domestic consumption. Along with this are the demands for green production, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and aiming for sustainable development. Therefore, in managing production and business, in addition to saving and reducing costs, strengthening the application of science and technology and using waste as alternative raw materials in cement production needs to be promoted.

To support the cement and concrete industry, on November 22, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, Fireworks Trade Media Vietnam, in collaboration with the Vietnam Cement Association and the Vietnam Building Materials Association, inaugurated the 4th Cement & Concrete Expo Vietnam 2023. This is the only specialized exhibition on cement and concrete in Vietnam, aiming to showcase the latest achievements in the cement and concrete manufacturing industry and provide participating companies with opportunities to develop their business networks and expand their domestic and international markets.

According to the organizers, this year's exhibition featured 150 participating units, attracting over 3,000 domestic and international visitors. This helped visitors gain a better understanding of Vietnam's current cement and concrete industry, thereby facilitating trade connections between material and equipment manufacturers and leading cement and concrete producers and suppliers.
Besides the exhibition, the program also includes specialized seminars with the participation of experts and speakers from many large businesses in the industry, sharing innovations in the cement and concrete production process. They will also update participants on new technological trends and current challenges in the cement and concrete industry.
The exhibition will take place over two days, November 22-23, 2023.
