At Rang Dong Kindergarten (Quang Phu Ward), the "Reading Festival" was organized with many activities suitable for preschool children, such as displaying and introducing various types of children's books and stories; teachers telling stories and reading books with the children; guiding children to look at pictures and tell stories based on the pictures; and creating a space for interaction and sharing about favorite books.
With the aim of spreading a love of books to children and building a positive educational environment, the school also calls on parents to actively cooperate and spend time reading with their children every day. This will help form good habits and strengthen family bonds; build and develop a reading culture from the early years of a child's life, contributing to nurturing a passion for discovering knowledge in the future generation.
Also as part of the activities in response to Book and Reading Culture Day, this year Hung Vuong Primary School (Hai Chau ward) organized many activities for students such as the "Drawing the Cover of My Favorite Book" contest; "Journey of Knowledge" with two parts: decoding knowledge and being a young researcher; and the "My Favorite Book Page - Connecting the Future" contest introducing the books the students love.

Participating in the competition, An Nhien, a student from class 2/1, shared her thoughts on the book "The Adventures of Cricket" by writer To Hoai. According to An Nhien, each page of the book helped her understand many useful things, especially lessons about courage, responsibility, and how to treat friends.
Similarly, Duy Trung Primary School (Duy Xuyen commune) organized a Reading Festival with the theme "Knowledge from the Pages of Books," featuring competitions suitable for different age groups, such as "Knowledge from the Pages of Books" for grades 1, 2, and 3, and "Ringing the Golden Bell" for grades 4 and 5, revolving around library knowledge and life skills.
Mr. Le Anh Tuan, Deputy Principal of Duy Trung Primary School, said that through the competitions, the school hopes to ignite a passion for reading, contribute to the formation of self-learning habits, improve thinking and communication skills, and promote the holistic development of students.
According to Ms. Do Thi Le, Principal of Hung Vuong Primary School, through these activities, students have the opportunity to recreate their favorite books with creative book covers, thereby gaining a better understanding of the content and value of each work. Each product not only demonstrates rich imagination but also reveals the students' passion for reading; at the same time, it contributes to developing digital skills, the ability to apply technology in learning, and helps students become more confident when presenting in front of a crowd.

This year's Book and Reading Culture Day is seen not only as an opportunity to honor good books, but also to affirm the important role of reading in life, especially in the digital age.
To promote a reading culture, the City People's Committee issued Plan No. 157/KH-UBND dated April 2, 2026, on organizing activities to celebrate Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2026, with many programs lasting throughout the year, focusing intensely in April and May 2026. From primary to high school, schools developed plans to promote reading, organized friendly reading spaces, held knowledge-based competitions, storytelling activities based on books, etc., creating a vibrant atmosphere and strongly spreading the habit of reading among students.
