(Dan Tri Newspaper) - For top-performing university graduates, the joy of welcoming the Lunar New Year is even more special as they have just achieved a proud accomplishment.
The joy of Tet for the top-scoring students.
With the title of valedictorian, outstanding students not only bring pride to themselves but also to their families.
For top-scoring students, Tet (Lunar New Year) is not only a time for rest but also an opportunity to reflect on their journey. Nguyen Hoang Duong, the top-scoring student in International Business at the National Economics University, shared: "This is the most meaningful Tet for me."
After years of studying, I've finally achieved the goal I set for myself. The feeling of holding this prestigious degree in my hands makes me more confident as I embark on the next stage of my journey."

Similarly to Hoang Duong, Mai Xuan Bach, the valedictorian of the Data Science major at the National Economics University, said: "This year's Tet holiday is truly very different for me."
Besides the joy of celebrating the Lunar New Year with my family, I feel proud to have achieved great results in my studies, and I hope this will be a solid foundation for my career in the new year."
The most memorable moments during my time in university weren't the grueling exams or sleepless nights, but rather the time spent with friends and the inspiring group discussions.
"My time participating in Youth Union and Student Association activities has been an unforgettable experience. In particular, what makes me most proud is being a member of the Biotechnology Faculty's Student Association."
This is not only a place where I can contribute my small efforts and ideas to the department's activities, but also a place where I learn many essential skills that help me grow and mature.
"I am very grateful to have worked with amazing brothers, sisters, and friends who are always ready to support each other and overcome all difficulties together," said Tran Quoc Dung, valedictorian of the Forestry Academy.

Study experiences of top-scoring students
For many, achieving top honors means every exam is a grueling battle. From late-night studying sessions to tackling assignments and projects, the journey to academic excellence is far from easy. However, these top students all possess unique study secrets and methods that help them achieve outstanding results.
Vo Minh Quan, valedictorian of the Judicial Academy, shared: "My learning method isn't about rote memorization, but about understanding. I always try to familiarize myself with the problems and explain their logic instead of just remembering the answers."
In addition, Quân also affirmed that maintaining a regular study routine and allocating time wisely were the decisive factors that helped him excel in his subjects.
Vu Thu Hang, valedictorian of the University of Foreign Languages - Vietnam National University, Hanoi, said: "I always look for learning opportunities outside of official classes, such as participating in clubs, seminars, or professional sharing sessions. This not only helps expand my knowledge but also creates important relationships for the future."

Concerns after achieving the top student title.
Despite having excellent academic achievements, not all valedictorians easily find their desired jobs. Many are still hesitant about choosing between working in big cities or returning to their hometowns to start a career.
Xuan Bach confided: "Having the title of valedictorian is an advantage, but in reality, the job requires more than that. I once considered working at a large company or pursuing further education. Currently, I have chosen to work for another 2-3 years to gain more experience."
Furthermore, many top graduates face immense pressure due to the high expectations placed upon them by their families and society. They not only need a good job but also must prove that their academic achievements truly deliver value.
Furthermore, many top graduates face immense pressure due to the high expectations placed upon them by their families and society. They not only need a good job but also must prove that their academic achievements truly deliver value.
Unlike Xuan Bach, Vu Thuy Duong, the "double valedictorian" of Phenikaa University, confided: "The valedictorian title is an advantage because it helps me make a good first impression and opens up more opportunities. However, it also comes with the pressure to prove that I deserve that title."
I think being valedictorian can open more doors at the start of a career, but salary and long-term job opportunities don't just depend on the title. They also depend on actual abilities, soft skills, and adaptability to the job.
Titles are just the starting point; the journey ahead requires continuous effort. Therefore, I always focus on self-improvement so that I can create real value in my work."

Meanwhile, "iron rose" Ho Thi Kieu Trang, who graduated top of her class from the People's Police Academy, confided: "I also sense the expectations from my colleagues and superiors. They expect me to demonstrate quick thinking and efficiency in my work."
However, I believe that competence comes not only from academic achievements but also from practical experience and a proactive attitude. I always try my best and learn from those around me."
Tet (Lunar New Year) is not only a time for rest but also an opportunity for top graduates to prepare themselves for a new chapter in their lives. Regardless of the path they choose, they all carry within them the aspiration and determination to continue achieving success in the future.
The title of valedictorian is a source of pride, but more importantly, it's just the beginning. Their journey ahead is still long, filled with challenges but also opportunities.
