Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Ta Cu Ty commune, Bui Van Vinh, shared information about crops with the local people.

During the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary Bui Van Vinh directly discussed and guided the Party branch on innovating the content and methods of its meetings, linking them to the village's political tasks and the practical needs of the people. Accordingly, the Party branch focused on evaluating the implementation of socio-economic development tasks, discussing solutions to enhance the exemplary role of Party members in mobilizing people to maintain environmental hygiene, improve the landscape, and implement the criteria for a happy village.

Immediately after the Party branch meeting, members of the "Saturday with the People" task force and Party members, along with the villagers, immediately implemented specific tasks such as: assisting in cleaning up the environment, disseminating information, and guiding people on how to keep livestock in enclosures...

“The fact that commune leaders directly attend Party branch meetings has contributed to improving the quality of the meetings; Party members are more confident in expressing their opinions, discussing, raising difficulties, and proposing solutions. Through this, the political core role of the Party branch at the grassroots level is enhanced, creating momentum to promote the socio -economic development of the village,” said Mr. Vang Van Luong, Secretary of the Party Branch of Nam Som village.

The "Saturday with the People" model in Ta Cu Ty commune, a mountainous area in Lao Cai province, is gradually contributing to the innovation of leadership methods by the Party committee and local government. This is also one of the activities aimed at concretizing the resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels in the mountainous commune.

To concretize the Resolution of the First Party Congress of Ta Cu Ty Commune for the 2025-2030 term, the Party Committee of Ta Cu Ty Commune issued Plan No. 21-KH/DU dated October 6, 2025; the focus of which is to innovate leadership methods, strengthen close ties with the grassroots, and build close relationships between the Party committee, the government, and the people.

Accordingly, the commune established 15 working groups, each responsible for one village, consisting of 13-15 members who are officials and Party members from various agencies, departments, and organizations. These working groups regularly visit the villages on two Saturdays each month to assist the people.

Since implementing the "Saturday with the People" model, Ta Cu Ty commune has built a model vegetable garden right at its headquarters, serving as a basis for disseminating information, providing guidance, and replicating the model in the community; contributing to improving meals, ensuring food safety and hygiene, and gradually changing the living habits of the people.

"Previously, our family's garden land was left unused. Since the commune officials came to directly guide us in improving the soil, selecting seeds, and applying appropriate vegetable growing procedures, our family has been growing many kinds of vegetables to serve our family meals. If we don't eat it all, we sell it to our neighbors," shared Thào A Dìn from Nậm Sò village.

We don't do things for the people, but we work together with them.

The "Saturday with the People" model was implemented simultaneously in 15 villages and hamlets of Ta Cu Ty commune, with the common feature being that the working groups did not do the work for the people, but instead discussed and agreed on the content and assigned tasks together with the people. The people directly participated from the planning stage to the implementation, thereby raising their sense of responsibility and overcoming the mentality of waiting and relying on others.

In implementing this model, each official, Party member, and commune-level civil servant directly engages with the villages and hamlets, guiding the local people. All tasks are clearly assigned to specific individuals and responsibilities, with individuals accountable for monitoring, evaluating, and summarizing the results monthly, ensuring the program is implemented effectively and yields tangible results.

“Through the ‘Saturday with the People’ initiative, the awareness and responsibility of officials and Party members have been raised, and the relationship between the government and the people has become increasingly close. People are gradually changing their mindset and methods in production and daily life; they are more proactive in maintaining security and order, environmental hygiene, and participating in building new rural areas,” said Mr. Bui Van Vinh, Deputy Secretary of Ta Cu Ty commune.

In practice, the "Saturday with the People" model has brought about significant changes at the grassroots level, gradually improving the rural landscape, raising people's living standards, and strengthening community solidarity. More importantly, through concrete actions, the people's trust in the local Party committees and government has been enhanced.
