On the afternoon of October 9th, in Quynh Thuan commune, Quynh Luu district, Nghe An province, the Farmers' Association of Nghe An province, in coordination with the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and other provincial political and social organizations, organized the program "Accompanying Fishermen in Staying at Sea in 2023".

Attending the conference were: Mr. Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association; Ms. Nguyen Thi Quynh Hoa - Chairman of the Provincial Women's Union; Mr. Phan Thanh Doai - Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department; representatives from the Provincial Veterans' Association, the Provincial Labor Union, the Provincial Border Guard Command; leaders of Quynh Luu district; and a large number of fishermen in the area.

Over the years, the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association has organized the "Accompanying Fishermen in Staying at Sea" program with many practical activities to promptly encourage, support, and equip fishermen during their fishing activities at sea. This has spread patriotism, awakened national pride, and, most importantly, helped fishermen confidently venture out to sea, contributing to the protection of national sovereignty .

During the program, fishermen and boat owners listened to officers from the Quynh Thuan Border Guard Station disseminate information on legal regulations concerning the sea and islands, the protection of aquatic resources, and the prevention of illegal and unreported fishing. This helped fishermen understand and improve their awareness of complying with the law when participating in fishing activities at sea.

In addition, local people also received training from officials of the Nghe An Provincial Center for Disease Control, equipping them with knowledge and skills in basic first aid and how to prevent accidents at sea.

Speaking at the program, Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung – Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association – expressed his hope that fishermen would always be conscious of complying with regulations in seafood exploitation, and that each member would be a propagandist, encouraging everyone to strictly abide by the law, working together for sustainable development, carrying out seafood exploitation with reporting, in accordance with the law and regulations, in order to lift the European Union's "yellow card" and enhance the value of Vietnamese seafood.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Department, the Provincial Farmers' Association, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, and political and social organizations of the province and Quynh Luu district presented 50 gifts to 50 fishermen in Quynh Long and Son Hai communes, including national flags, raincoats, and life jackets.

The Provincial Farmers' Association presented 5 gift packages to 5 disadvantaged fishing households, each worth 1 million VND; Quynh Luu district presented 10 gift packages to 10 disadvantaged fishing households in Son Hai and Quynh Long communes, each worth 500,000 VND.
