On the morning of February 19th, in Nghi Trung commune (Nghi Loc district), the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association held a ceremony to launch the "Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to Uncle Ho" for the Spring of the Year of the Dragon 2024. Attending the ceremony were Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung - Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association , Member of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association; representatives from provincial departments and agencies; and a large number of farmer members.

Following President Ho Chi Minh 's teaching, "Spring is the time for planting trees, making the country ever more beautiful," in recent years, the Standing Committee of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association has launched the "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember Uncle Ho."

This is an annual activity of the association at all levels, always receiving the approval and support of the Party committees and government; and the active participation of cadres and farmer members in contributing labor and materials to planting, caring for, and protecting trees.

To date, throughout the province, the various levels of the Farmers' Association have organized the construction of 2,125 model farmer gardens, 880 standard new rural gardens, 1,089 "Farmers' Tree Rows in Gratitude to Uncle Ho," and 124 "Farmers' Tree Gardens in Gratitude to Uncle Ho," with a total of over 1 million trees planted.

Notably, the work of caring for, protecting, and developing rows of trees and orchards continues to be effectively implemented at all levels of the association and has made a positive contribution to environmental protection, socio- economic development, and the construction of new rural areas in the locality.

At the launching ceremony, Comrade Vo Van Phong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association emphasized: "To ensure that the results of this launching ceremony have a widespread impact throughout the province, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Farmers' Association requests that all levels of the association continue to promote the dissemination of information about the purpose and significance of planting trees to all members, in order to raise people's awareness of the role and importance of planting trees."

The goal is for each branch to plant at least one row of trees; and for each farmer association official and member to plant at least one tree, contributing to building a green, clean, and beautiful countryside.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, officials and employees of the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Nghi Loc District Farmers' Association participated in planting 140 black star trees along a 700-meter stretch of road in the center of Nghi Trung commune.

In response to the launching ceremony of the Provincial Farmers' Association, during the Lunar New Year of the Dragon 2024, the Farmers' Associations of districts, towns, and cities in the province launched a campaign to participate in the "Tree Planting Festival to forever remember President Ho Chi Minh".
