Some initial results
The project "Raising awareness and mobilizing farmers to manage waste in Vietnam, contributing to the international community's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions" in Nghe An province involves 11 communes from 3 district-level units: Do Luong, Nam Dan, and Thai Hoa town.

The project trained 30 master trainers and organized 26 training courses for 780 farmer members on environmentally friendly waste treatment methods in the participating districts, including 5 techniques (fermenting crop by-products for animal feed; raising chickens on thick biological bedding; composting organic fertilizer from crop by-products; raising calcium worms; and raising earthworms).
After receiving technical guidance, 540 farmer members were mobilized to implement the Project's techniques, forming 11 "Green Future Guardians" groups.

In Nam Dan district, 10 TOT (Training of Trainers) from the District and Commune Farmers' Associations participated in the project's training courses. The district organized 11 training courses on environmentally friendly waste treatment techniques for 330 participants, established 4 "Preserving a Green Future" groups with 180 members, and developed and replicated more than 200 models applying waste treatment techniques in the area.
These results are due to the positive contributions of officials from the Nam Dan District Farmers' Association and its communes in the district in disseminating information and encouraging farmers to adopt environmentally friendly waste treatment techniques at home.

At the conference, farmers of Nam Dan district visited waste treatment models in some households; introduced an overview of the Project; waste treatment techniques (fermenting crop by-products for animal feed; raising chickens on thick biological bedding; composting organic fertilizer from crop by-products in the fields; treating stubble in the fields; raising calcium worms, raising earthworms).

These activities have helped raise awareness among members and farmers about environmental protection and climate change adaptation. Simultaneously, they have gradually reduced waste from excess feed, livestock waste, and by-products from crop cultivation, minimizing the amount of waste that pollutes the environment; and have developed and replicated models for converting waste into nutritious feed for livestock and agricultural production, thereby increasing productivity.
Continue to replicate the model
During direct visits to the model farms and discussions at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Quang Tung - Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association - acknowledged and praised the exemplary and advanced farmers who are very dedicated and enthusiastic, readily applying and introducing the model farms to others, sharing the positive results of applying the methods, and promoting and encouraging others to adopt them, contributing to the increasingly strong spread of the movement "Together we effectively handle waste today for the prosperity of the community tomorrow".
The efforts of each individual play a crucial role in determining the success of the project "Raising awareness and mobilizing farmers to manage waste in Vietnam, contributing to the international community's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions".

The Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association suggested that in the coming time, the Farmers' Associations of the districts and communes participating in the project should continue to promote communication activities and establish more "Preserving a Green Future" groups so that more and more farmer members in the district will apply environmentally friendly waste treatment methods, helping to improve the economy of households, protect the environment, and contribute to the formation of a circular agriculture and green agriculture model.

"These are concrete actions taken by farmer association members to contribute to increasing the value of agricultural production; protecting the environment; and building new rural areas in the locality," the Chairman of the Provincial Farmers Association emphasized.
