
Attending the event, on the Thai side was Mr. Nikorndej Balankura - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Vietnam.
On the Vietnamese side, there were representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and 14 provinces and cities in the northern and central regions.
Representing Nghe An province were Mr. Nguyen Van De - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ms. Tran Khanh Thuc - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs; and representatives from the following departments and agencies: Industry and Trade, Planning and Investment, Tourism, the Southeast Economic Zone Management Board, and the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion.

The "Meeting Thailand" conference took place to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the upgrading of relations to a Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and Thailand.
Over the years, cooperation between the two countries has achieved remarkable results, with economic development cooperation being a highlight. Many localities in Vietnam and Thailand have become important partners of each other.
At the discussion session "East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC): Promoting Cooperation and Supply Chain Integration," on behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De presented a paper on the topic: "Promoting supply chain integration: Role, significance, and implementation measures at the local level."
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De emphasized: In recent years, Nghe An province has promoted international economic integration activities, including integration and connection along the value chain. Total import and export turnover in 2022 reached 3.39 billion USD, of which goods export turnover reached 2.19 billion USD, an increase of 3.6% compared to 2021, exceeding the annual plan by 9.44% with the participation of 360 export enterprises to 133 countries and territories (specifically with the Thai market, in the first 6 months of 2023, Nghe An's import and export turnover reached over 30 million USD, an increase of 15% compared to the same period).

Main export items include: various types of packaging, seafood products, wood pellets, processed fruits and fruit juices, etc. Main import items include: paper products, empty cans for canned fish, gasoline, plastic pellets, etc.
The leaders, government, and departments of Nghe An province always stand alongside businesses; organizing trade promotion programs, fairs, seminars, and supply-demand connection events for businesses to access global supply chains to strengthen their position, ensure sustainable development, and improve business efficiency; supporting businesses in the province to access global supply chains to strengthen their position, ensure sustainable development, and improve business efficiency; and supporting businesses in implementing cooperation within the framework of the Association of 9 provinces and 3 countries (Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand) using Highway 8 and Highway 12...
Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Van De, also requested the governments of both countries to create favorable conditions for Nghe An province to establish sister-province relationships with provinces in Thailand to promote bilateral trade and investment; to establish a regular information channel to support businesses in Nghe An province and Thai provinces in connecting and finding partners; and to support connections so that Thai businesses can continue to receive and introduce products from Nghe An province, especially agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, and OCOP products, to participate in the value chains of Thai businesses in the Vietnamese and Thai markets.
Nghe An province will continue to promote administrative procedure reform, improve the investment environment, and support Thai investors in Nghe An, especially in the province's industrial parks, including the WHA industrial park implemented by Thai investors.
