In Giao Lac commune, there are nearly 300 establishments specializing in the production of wedding dresses, creating jobs for nearly 3,000 local workers. The products are diverse in style, design and price. Customers can choose from many different dress models, from classic styles to modern dress models. The owners of wedding dress production households in Giao Lac are not only good at their jobs but most of them are very sharp, quickly grasp the psychology and tastes of customers, market trends and know how to take care of customers, so business is very busy. Along with the strong development of information technology, wedding dress production establishments are also bold in online promotion activities on websites, Facebook, Zalo... to reach and connect with domestic and foreign customers. Customers can refer to designs on websites, social networking sites or contact the factory owners directly to see the designs, place orders, and transfer deposits so that the households here can pack and send the goods to their doorstep. Thanks to that, Giao Lac wedding dresses have "reached far" to all provinces and cities across the country, even exported to neighboring countries.

Ms. Do Thi Lan, Dai Dong village is one of the first wedding dress sewing establishments in Giao Lac commune. With more than 20 years of experience in the profession, from the time when there were only a few people, Ms. Lan's establishment has now created stable jobs for more than 50 workers with an income of 7-10 million VND/person/month. Many people work in the workshop during the day and bring their products home at night to make extra money, earning up to nearly 20 million VND/month. Workers with good techniques and design skills will have higher incomes. Ms. Lan shared: In the early days of "stepping into" the profession, she had to go everywhere, to each wedding dress shop to introduce the products. To complete a wedding dress, it must go through many stages such as coming up with ideas, cutting fabric, sewing, covering the body, designing patterns, attaching flowers, beading... Workers will be divided into each stage. The most important stage is the design stage because whether the product is eye-catching and meets customer tastes or not is determined by this stage. Therefore, Ms. Lan has to design directly or assign skilled workers to take on this step. After completion, each product is carefully inspected by the owner before being delivered to the customer. Thanks to her perseverance and diligence in improving her skills, updating designs as well as keeping up with online sales trends on social networking sites, her family's business now has a stable number of customers, and the number of orders is increasing. Currently, Ms. Lan's workshop produces 50-60 dresses a day, with a monthly sales volume of up to 1,500 dresses, priced from 1 to 5 million VND/product or higher depending on the design. Paying attention to every little detail to make the dress, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, a worker at Ms. Lan's workshop, shared: "In addition to being diligent and meticulous, the worker needs to have experience, dexterity, and aesthetic sophistication to create fashionable and trendy dresses, serving the diverse preferences of brides on their big day. Since the wedding dress sewing profession was established, the lives of the people in my hometown have become increasingly stable."

Ms. Dinh Thi Xuan, hamlet 1, succeeded in the wedding dress sewing business because of her dynamism, daring to think, daring to do. In 2005, Ms. Xuan was given a loan of 50 million VND by the Women's Union of Giao Lac commune from preferential capital from the Social Policy Bank of Giao Thuy district, thereby having more capital to invest in the production and business of wedding dresses. She also actively participated in training courses on starting a business, labor management; at the same time, she focused on training and improving the skills of workers; invested in modern machinery; improved designs to meet the requirements of orders, creating prestige in the market with a consumption of over 2,000 products/month. Thanks to the support of the Women's Union at all levels and her diligence, hard work, and responsibility for her work, her sewing workshop gradually stabilized and developed, while creating stable jobs for more than 20 female workers in the locality. Many people in neighboring communes come to wedding dress factories in Giao Lac commune to import raw products to complete and consume, creating a closed, diverse and dynamic production value chain. Since 2019, Mr. Tran Viet Toan in Giao Thien commune has boldly invested in importing raw wedding dresses from production households in Giao Lac commune to decorate, complete and sell on social networks. From the early days of confusion, up to now, Mr. Toan's facility receives over 100 orders every day to provinces across the country and exports to neighboring countries such as Laos and Cambodia with prices ranging from 2 to 5 million VND/wedding dress, while creating stable jobs for 14 workers with salaries ranging from 14-20 million VND/person/month... Currently, his 2 sons are also following the profession and continuing to expand the market scale of the facility.

From the meticulousness in every stitch, the sensitivity to the market to reasonable prices, the wedding dress sewing profession in Giao Lac commune has quickly established its own position in the domestic and foreign markets. Not only does it bring a stable source of income, contributing to the shift in the rural economic structure, the wedding dress sewing profession not only creates a significant source of income for the people but also helps solve a large number of laborers in rural areas during the off-season, especially rural women. Giao Lac is now no longer a purely agricultural countryside, but has become a bright spot in the development of the industry with modern technology. Passion, creativity and determination to rise up are the "keys" to help people here conquer the potential market and create beautiful stories from their diligent hands.
