Polite, humble, and a little shy, but as soon as she steps onto the stage under the lights, Lan Quynh and her voice burn "like a torch." That's how many people feel about opera artist Lan Quynh (pictured). It is her heartfelt love for art that is the endless source of inspiration for her to immerse herself in the timeless melodies of classical music.

Lan Quỳnh is fortunate to possess a soprano voice and masterful vocal technique, allowing her to sing well in many genres. Recently, Lan Quỳnh caused a sensation on social media with a series of songs from the prime-time VTV drama "A Father's Gift ." Her performances quickly gained popularity, garnering over 20 million views on TikTok and generating massive engagement on her personal channels. However, Lan Quỳnh shared that only when singing opera does she truly feel like herself. For her, opera permeates every breath she takes. She nurtures and cherishes this intense love for the genre every day.

Born in 1998 in Hung Yen , Lan Quynh is also known as one of the outstanding students of Dr. Tan Nhan, a vocal music lecturer at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Under her teacher's guidance and through diligent training, Lan Quynh has blossomed from a rough gem into a young artist highly regarded by professionals and loved by many audiences. She recently graduated with a Master's degree. This is something she is very proud of after winning first prize in the Chamber Music style at the 2022 National Sao Mai Singing Competition. It's worth remembering that in the final round, with the song "Chim hoa mi" (Alabiev - Vietnamese lyrics by Trinh Minh Hien), Lan Quynh showcased a beautiful, clear, and sharp voice, a refined and flexible approach to the song, and a professional performance style…

Despite being the champion, Lan Quynh maintains her humble and exemplary demeanor, continuing to train and hone her vocal technique and stage presence to bring audiences even higher quality and more polished musical products in the future. "I won't rest on my laurels, because I know the path I'm pursuing is long and full of challenges," Lan Quynh expressed.

Pursuing a genre that appeals to a niche audience, Lan Quynh admits to facing certain difficulties. “I am very saddened that the standards of opera are being distorted. Partly because of the audience, and partly because opera artists have to adapt to reach a wider audience. I have pursued opera for many years, and there have been times when the audience didn't understand what I was singing. I still accepted it and persevered,” she confided.

On September 19th, Lan Quynh held a recital-style concert in a cozy setting at the Vietnam National Academy of Music's concert hall. She hopes to bring classical music and opera closer to the public. The singer shared: “This is the first ticketed concert I’ve ever done in my singing career. If the response is good, I will do bigger live concerts. My genre can’t take risks; I have to explore and find my audience.”
