Musician To Hieu, who was close to artist Thuong Tin in his final days, said that before his death, the actor had been going through a period of declining health and spirit, suffering from many illnesses. Musician To Hieu is also present at the actor's house to take care of the funeral with his relatives.

Actor Thuong Tin was over 60 years old during his lifetime.

Last March, artist Thuong Tin moved from Ho Chi Minh City to Ninh Thuan (now Khanh Hoa) after a long time without a singing show. He then announced his breakup with Kim Chi, his partner who was 32 years younger than him; their daughter now lives with her mother.
