On August 16, many travel companies said they are urgently preparing products, services, and tours to meet travel demand during the upcoming 4-day September 2 holiday.
Ms. Doan Thi Thanh Tra, Director of Marketing and Communications Department, Saigontourist Travel Company, said that the September 2nd holiday tour at the company has reached 88% of the expected number of seats served.
Based on the situation of tourists booking tours, the hottest tour routes include the 3-day Phu Quoc tour priced from 3.77 million VND; the 3-day Central region tour priced from 3.63 million VND (excluding airfare).
“This holiday, destinations in the Northwest are preparing to enter the ripe rice season, which will be a special opportunity for tourists to admire the beautiful natural picture with terraced fields stretching out, peaceful and romantic scenery. Mu Cang Chai, Sapa, Lai Chau, Dien Bien , Moc Chau are attractive destinations” – Ms. Tra said.
The tourism industry has just gone through the peak summer season, so the number of customers booking tours on September 2 is not expected to increase dramatically.
A notable point reported by travel companies is that the number of customers booking tours has not increased dramatically, customers choose to travel across departure dates, not too concentrated during the holiday season.
Ms. Tran Phuong Linh, Marketing Director - Information Technology, BenThanh Tourist Company, said that the September 2nd holiday is during the period when tourists have just experienced the peak summer tourist season and are preparing to enter the autumn-winter tourist season. Therefore, the purchasing power of the market is not large.
BenThanh Tourist has chosen to focus on tour programs that the company predicts will be popular with tourists this time, with outstanding tours to Northern Europe, Dubai; Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia tours for the foreign tourism market. Northern tours, Da Nang, Hoi An, Hue, Da Lat, Phan Thiet and Nha Trang… for the domestic tourism market.
“Currently, BenThanh Tourist has not recorded any signs of a sudden increase in the number of tourists during this year’s holiday. In addition to the Northern Europe tour and the Dubai tour which are fully booked, the Malaysia – Singapore tour is more than 50% full, and other tours are still on sale,” said Ms. Phuong Linh.
At this time, the demand of Vietnamese tourists to book tours abroad for the autumn season has increased quite strongly. In the photo: A destination in Japan
At TSTtourist Company, the number of seats released during this year's holiday is not too much, focusing on selected domestic and international tours. Up to now, about 50% of the seats prepared by the company have been reserved. It is forecasted that the number of family guests and guests traveling in private groups will increase positively from around August 30, including domestic and international destinations.
“This can be considered the last vacation for families before schools start. However, this year, the summer vacation is long, so there is no sign of service tension or sudden increase in demand. Some groups of tourists have registered for tours for the fall season from September to November with destinations abroad,” said Mr. Nguyen Minh Man, Director of Communications and Marketing at TST Tourist Company.
This year's 4-day September 2 holiday promises positive signals for the tourism industry, although demand is not too sudden.
Demand for foreign travel continues to dominate both the holiday season and the fall season over the next 2-3 months.
Mr. Pham Anh Vu, Deputy General Director of Viet Travel Company, informed that the current rate of holiday tour sales is nearly 60%, of which foreign tours account for 70% of customers booking during the holidays.
The 4-day holiday is suitable for many foreign tours to Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Korea, Japan. Even 5-day tours are chosen because the break time is by night flight.
“The difference is that demand during the holidays does not increase dramatically, but customers are very interested in autumn tours after the holidays, both domestically and internationally.
The trend of registering for tours departing and returning close to the holidays has also increased in many family groups traveling on private tours, possibly due to the need to avoid crowds during the holidays and in addition, the service prices on weekdays are cheaper than on holidays," said Mr. Vu.
