DTO - Born and raised in a poor family, with his parents working for a living, from a young age, Huynh Van Dang (born in 1995) - Secretary of the Youth Union of An Thanh Hamlet, Hong Ngu Ward (formerly An Thanh Hamlet, An Thanh Ward, Hong Ngu City, Dong Thap Province) had to go to school and work to help his parents. Having experienced a difficult life, Dang has a special sympathy for the poor and unfortunate. Over the years, Dang has actively participated in charity work, connecting and mobilizing donors to help many poor people in difficult circumstances in the area.

In 2017, Mr. Dang participated in the Youth Union, holding the positions of Deputy Secretary and then Secretary of the Youth Union of An Thanh hamlet. During his participation in the Youth Union, he promoted the spirit of volunteerism of the youth, was enthusiastic, creative, and effectively implemented the movements and activities of the Youth Union, especially actively participating in social security work in the locality.
With a spirit of community service, Mr. Dang enthusiastically participates in volunteer work. He said that since his student days, he and many classmates established a charity group by saving money from snacks to contribute to cooking porridge and buying vegetarian bread to give to people in difficult circumstances. Later, these members participated in cooking rice at the Charity Kitchen of Hong Ngu Regional General Hospital. His volunteer spirit was clearly demonstrated during the Covid-19 outbreak. Not hesitating about danger, he joined the former Green Shirt Shipper Team of Hong Ngu City to go to the market for people; participated in trips to deliver vegetables and tubers to people in the "red" areas.
With the thought of "giving is forever", in the past time, in the role of Head of the Nhan Tam Volunteer Group, every month, Mr. Dang and the group members mobilized funds, organized the making of breakfast dishes such as vermicelli, vegetarian bread to distribute to the people. For each breakfast distribution, he went to the market to buy ingredients, prepared the preliminary processing and gathered them at the location of Tinh That Buu Anh (An Binh ward) to organize the cooking. In addition to going to the market, Mr. Dang also woke up at 4 am to prepare the food, and at 6 am, he had vegetarian vermicelli portions distributed to the people. Currently, each month, he organizes 2 distributions with more than 1,000 vegetarian vermicelli portions, with a total value of 10 million VND.
Not stopping there, every time he learns of people in difficult circumstances who have serious illnesses, or people facing difficulties in life, Mr. Dang and members of the Nhan Tam Volunteer Group mobilize donors to sponsor many models such as: Raising lonely elderly people; supporting and sponsoring disadvantaged students; Funeral Assistance Fund; Love Connection Fund. Through these models, currently, every month, Mr. Dang supports cash, rice, and necessities for 8 lonely elderly people; and subsidizes money and rice for 4 students from families in difficult circumstances. From 2024 to now, we have mobilized support for over 170 people with serious illnesses in extremely difficult circumstances, with a total support value of more than 2.5 billion VND... Ms. Duong Thi Hien (born in 1962), residing in Hong Ngu ward, shared: "I make a living by selling lottery tickets and supporting my disabled husband, so life is still difficult. Thanks to Dang who often comes to give me rice, necessities and money, it helps me reduce some of my difficulties and gives me more confidence in life."
With his heart and enthusiasm, Mr. Dang contributes to the local government in ensuring social security and spreading humane values in the community. Mr. Huynh Van Dang confided: “Through the volunteer journey, I myself have gained many useful things, especially connecting with more friends, benefactors to “sow good karma” and share with the less fortunate in life. I vow to continue to help those who are still in difficult situations to spread humane values and good messages to the community, especially the youth.”
With his silent contributions to society in the past time, Mr. Huynh Van Dang was awarded the title "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" by the Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union for the period 2023 - 2025; The Provincial Youth Union Committee awarded a Certificate of Merit for "Beautiful Youth" in Dong Thap province in 2021. In particular, Mr. Dang was also honored to receive the title "Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings" in 2023 by the Central Executive Committee of the Youth Union.
