These days, the road leading to Border Guard Post No. 2, near border marker 279 of Lac Quoi Border Guard Station, is covered in red dust due to the heat and strong winds. Despite the long distance and difficult travel, the women take turns visiting and encouraging the officers and soldiers on duty. The gifts sent to them are simply a few bottles of cool water, some fruit, and necessities, but they contain the sincere affection of the home front for the soldiers in green uniforms who are guarding the peace of the Fatherland's border day and night.
Whenever the women visit, the border outpost becomes more lively with laughter, conversation, and warm greetings. Besides boosting morale, they also help the soldiers clean the barracks, sweep the living areas, and visit the vegetable garden where they produce crops. These simple acts add joy and help the officers and soldiers stay steadfast in their duties at the outpost and successfully complete their assigned tasks.
Ms. Neáng Phương, President of the Women's Union of Ba Chúc commune, shared: "Border guards have to be away from their families, on duty day and night in conditions with many hardships. Therefore, we women want to contribute our efforts to encourage them to work with peace of mind, prevent crime, and protect the peaceful lives of the people."
Besides visits and gift-giving, the Women's Union of the commune also coordinated with the Lac Quoi Border Guard Station to organize many meaningful activities such as cleaning the barracks, increasing production, and cultural and artistic exchanges. The songs echoing in the sun-drenched border region have somewhat dispelled the hardships and difficulties of life on the front lines.
During periods of harsh weather or complex border security situations, the affection of the women members for the soldiers becomes even deeper. Many women even proactively mobilize philanthropists to provide additional supplies, raincoats, medicine, and other necessary items for the forces on duty.
Major Vo Tuan Anh, commander of outpost No. 02, emotionally said: “The affection of the local women is a great source of encouragement for the officers and soldiers. Although the gifts are not large, they contain genuine care and sharing, warming the hearts of our comrades at the border. We remain determined to firmly protect border sovereignty , while also boosting production and improving our lives to successfully complete our assigned tasks.”
Through concrete and practical actions, the Women's Union of Ba Chúc commune contributes to fostering ever stronger solidarity between the military and the people. This sharing serves as a source of spiritual encouragement for the soldiers in green uniforms, strengthening their resolve and standing firm on the front lines of the Fatherland.
