Working at CSB Region 4 in early July 2025, we were introduced by the unit commander to Captain Nguyen Van Hung, Assistant to the Planning Staff, Logistics-Technical Department. As a young engineer, good at his profession, passionate about scientific research, and active in all activities, from 2023 to present, Captain Nguyen Van Hung and his teammates have researched and participated in the "Creative Youth in the Army" Award, winning 1 second prize, 2 third prizes, and 1 consolation prize. In particular, the initiative "Equipment for testing and evaluating the effectiveness of car brakes through the indicator of deceleration when braking" was selected for display at the Traditional House of the Military Motorcycle Industry. Based on the fact that practical training in the electromechanical field has many potential risks and can cause insecurity, Captain Nguyen Van Hung and his teammates have created the initiative "Training model for electrical instruments, electrical measuring instruments and electrical drives" to train theory, guide practice, contribute to improving the skills of connecting electrical circuits and using measuring instruments for officers and employees in the electromechanical field on CSB ships and other fields.

The Chief of the Coast Guard Command visited the initiatives and technical improvements of the Coast Guard's logistics and engineering sector.

Although he is "famous" throughout the CSB force with many titles and awards, such as: Emulation Soldier of the whole army, Advanced Youth Following Uncle Ho's Teachings at the national level, Outstanding Youth Union Cadre of the whole army, Promising Young Face of the whole army in 2024 and many certificates of merit from all levels, Captain Nguyen Van Hung modestly shared: "Not only in our unit but also in CSB units, there are many comrades who are called "innovative trees", much better than me. CSB logistics and technical officers and staff always try to research and innovate to have products and initiatives to solve difficult stages and difficult tasks, contributing to the unit's successful completion of its tasks".

From the practical tasks and responsibilities to the unit, officers, employees, and soldiers of the Coast Guard, especially the logistics-technical force, have had many practical initiatives and improvements. At Coast Guard Region 1, the group of authors including Captain Tran Van Quyet, Assistant of the Logistics-Technical Department and Captain Pham Duy Khanh, Assistant of the Command Center of the General Staff Department, successfully implemented the topic "Research, exploitation, and modeling of the anti-flooding control system on Coast Guard ships". This system can be applied, replaced, and installed on all types of ships and boats with easy-to-replace materials and components; overcomes the false alarm error, can be used for training in many locations, avoids affecting the life of equipment, contributes to improving the quality of training, handles situations well during the implementation of tasks, ensures safety and savings.

Talking to us, Captain Tran Van Quyet said: "CSB ships often operate in harsh environmental conditions at sea, ensuring the safety and vitality of the ship must be given top priority. In addition to warning and fire detection systems, automatic detection of flooding in ship compartments is especially important. Currently, the flooding warning system on many ships has been damaged, causing false alarms; while troubleshooting and repairing is difficult because the old system has a complex structure and materials are difficult to find domestically. We have tried to research to contribute to overcoming this situation."

The spirit of passion, creativity, and high responsibility of officers, employees, and soldiers with practical and effective initiatives have contributed to promoting the movement of promoting initiatives and technical improvements in the Coast Guard force, practically helping units to fulfill their tasks well, contributing to the cause of building a revolutionary, disciplined, elite, and modern Vietnam Coast Guard force.
