Premier League: Man United win a thrilling match against Nottingham
Man United secured a dramatic 3-2 victory against Nottingham in matchday 37 of the 2025-2026 Premier League season.

On the evening of May 17th, the penultimate match of the 2025-2026 Premier League season between Man United and Nottingham took place at Old Trafford.
This was Manchester United's final home game in the Premier League this season. Therefore, manager Michael Carrick fielded his strongest team with the goal of winning to show his appreciation to the fans.
Man United had a spectacular game against Nottingham (PL).
With a quality squad and confidence boosted by their recent winning streak, Man United quickly took control of the game and put immense pressure on the visitors' goal.
In the 6th minute, Bruno Fernandes delivered a dangerous cross, creating chaos in the Nottingham penalty area. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Luke Shaw unleashed a powerful volley into the far corner, beating goalkeeper Sels.
With an early goal, the Manchester United players seemed to shed the pressure and played more freely.
In the 14th minute, Bruno Fernandes combined well with Casemiro outside the Nottingham penalty area before unleashing a shot, but the visiting goalkeeper reacted quickly to make the save.
Conversely, Nottingham proactively played with a large number of players in their own half and waited for opportunities to launch quick counter-attacks. In the 21st minute, Gibbs-White broke the offside trap and went through to face goalkeeper Lammens, but his shot was unsuccessful.

In the 29th minute, goalkeeper Lammens passed the ball to Kobbie Mainoo inside the penalty area, but the Nottingham striker anticipated it. However, Mainoo skillfully controlled the ball, causing the opposing player to commit a foul.
In the 38th minute, Bruno Fernandes delivered a cross from a corner on the right wing. Goalkeeper Sels had to rush out to clear the danger for Nottingham. Immediately afterwards, Lisandro Martinez attempted a volley but the ball deflected off Anderson.

After the break, the pace of the game picked up with continuous attacks from both teams. In the 53rd minute, Nottingham launched an attack down the right wing, Anderson crossed the ball into the penalty area for Morato to head it powerfully into the net, bringing the game back to a tie.
After conceding a goal, the home team immediately reacted. In the 55th minute, Mbeumo turned and shot amidst a crowd of Nottingham defenders, and the ball found its way to Matheus Cunha. The Man United number 10 controlled the ball skillfully before finishing with a shot that slowly rolled into the far corner, leaving goalkeeper Sels helpless and making the score 2-1.
With increasing enthusiasm, Man United continued to push forward in attack, creating significant pressure on the visitors' goal.
After several missed opportunities, in the 76th minute, Man United finally found the net to make it 3-1 thanks to Mbeumo. In this situation, Bruno Fernandes provided the decisive pass.
Despite conceding goals in quick succession, Nottingham showed they were not an easy opponent to beat. In the 78th minute, Anderson comfortably crossed the ball from the right wing for Gibbs-White to delicately touch it into the net past goalkeeper Senne Lammens, reducing the score to 2-3.
For the remainder of the match, both teams continued to exchange attacks, but no further goals were scored. Ultimately, Man United won 3-2 against Nottingham.
