On the evening of September 24th, the producers of the 2024 "Beautiful Sister Riding the Wind" competition announced that singer Ngoc Anh, along with Ai Phuong, Bui Lan Huong, Pham Quynh Anh, and Hoang Yen Chibi, are the next names to join this year's lineup.
Once one of the top-rated singers, Ngoc Anh is associated with the image of a star in the 80s and 90s of the last century. Confirming her participation in the 2024 "Beautiful Sister Riding the Wind" competition, Ngoc Anh surprised audiences by competing in a reality show at the age of 60.
The singer shared her thoughts on the decision: “I am very happy to be invited to participate in the program. I know I am the oldest contestant in this year's show. I am excited and eager to face the challenges and deliver explosive performances. I came to the program with a very relaxed mindset because I believe that winning or losing isn't important; what matters is giving my all and fulfilling the program's requirements and criteria.”
Meanwhile, Bui Lan Huong said she really wanted to do something special and different, so she decided to accept the invitation to participate. She wanted to experience, perform, make friends...
"I'm a very introverted person, so I wanted to join the show to make more friends. Almost everyone disliked my participation in reality TV because they thought my introverted nature and my tendency to step back and observe the bigger picture would create a sense of distance. But the other contestants are all around 30 and over, so there's no time left for fun, so I just took a chance," Bui Lan Huong said.
Ai Phuong is one of the singer-songwriters who possesses a gentle and calm demeanor. Her participation in the 2024 "Beautiful Sister Riding the Wind" competition came as a surprise to the audience.
Speaking about this risky move, Ai Phuong said: “Last year, I received an invitation but wasn't ready to participate, so I declined. The values of the program resonate with what I'm looking for in life at this stage. I feel like each person is a mirror, and if I can be with everyone, perhaps that mirror will help me reflect on myself, making my path to finding happiness more complete.”
Before deciding to participate in the program, Pham Quynh Anh shared: “I think just being able to live in the singing profession is enough to make me happy, so for many years I’ve just been doing things at a steady pace. I have a family and have to take care of my children, so I didn’t dare to break through. I had to think for a long time before making this decision. I arranged everything so that even if I went to compete, everything at home would be fine.”
Pham Quynh Anh rarely showcases her dancing skills in front of an audience. When agreeing to participate in the 2024 "Beautiful Sister Riding the Wind" competition, the singer stated that she was ready: "I accept all challenges. The more I fear something, the more I must face and overcome it. I think this is the spirit of the female artists participating in the program."
Hoang Yen Chibi said she wanted to participate to improve her singing voice because the program has many vocal coaches.
"Actually, all the women have their own worries and stories, so when we sit down and chat, it's very heartwarming. I really wish I could have that feeling. To be able to sit there, share with everyone, and be loved by everyone," she shared.
The "Beautiful Women Riding the Wind 2024" program will air in October on VTV3 and YouTube YeaH1.
To date, the competition has revealed 27 participating artists and athletes.
