Construction site for the Da Lat ring road is in disarray.

The Cam Ly - Phuoc Thanh road construction project, intended to serve the transportation needs of residents and tourists and alleviate traffic congestion in the Da Lat area of Lam Dong province, remains unfinished and behind schedule despite repeated urging from the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee.

The Cam Ly - Phuoc Thanh road project is 8.9km long, connecting Cam Ly ward in Da Lat and Lang Biang ward in Da Lat, linking the western to the northern part of Da Lat. In 2022, the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee approved the project with a total investment of 400 billion VND.

The investment objective for this road project is to create a ring road axis in accordance with the Da Lat urban master plan until 2030, with a vision to 2050.

According to the initial plan, the project was to be implemented during the period 2021-2024, then adjusted to the end of 2025. However, due to land clearance issues, the project has been repeatedly delayed compared to the plan.

To date, only the section from Cam Ly intersection to Mang Ling, intersecting with Ankroet road, approximately 5.2km long, has been basically completed. The remaining sections are still unfinished. Specifically, the new section from Km4+556 of DT.722 road to the intersection with 19-5 road in Lang Biang ward, Da Lat, still faces numerous challenges in land clearance and site leveling.

Due to the project's delays, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Vo Ngoc Hiep inspected the site and requested that the relevant units urgently concentrate manpower and equipment to quickly complete the site preparation for construction, aiming for completion before June 30, 2026.

According to the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, upon completion, the project will serve the transportation and goods delivery needs of residents and tourists, contributing to reducing traffic congestion in the Da Lat area.

The project also seamlessly connects with the 7.4km-long Da Lat ring road, with a total investment of 870 billion VND. Construction on this route began in July 2021 and is now largely complete, allowing vehicles to travel from the southern part of Da Lat, between Prenn Pass, to the west, towards Cam Ly Waterfall.
