The new route is gradually coming to light.
The Cam Ly - Phuoc Thanh road is not just a transportation project, but also a source of hope for thousands of agricultural households and tourism businesses in the western and northern areas of Da Lat city. With a total length of approximately 8.9 km, a roadbed width of 9 m, and a road surface width of 6 m, the project is designed according to the standards of a Class 3 mountain road, aiming to withstand and meet the increasing traffic volume in the area.
With a total investment of up to 400 billion VND, the project aims to create a spacious corridor connecting Cam Ly Ward in Da Lat with Lang Biang Ward in Da Lat. On-site observations on May 13, 2026, showed that the modern road had taken shape. Smooth asphalt roads have replaced the previously dilapidated and narrow paths, creating a completely new look for an area with rich agricultural and tourism potential but previously hampered by inadequate transportation infrastructure.
Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, a rose farmer in the area, couldn't hide his joy as he shared: "Transporting agricultural products is now easier and there are more routes. In recent months, farmers no longer have to endure the 'dusty sun, muddy rain' that hindered trade as before. Along both sides of the route, many families have started renovating their houses and yards, ready to seize new opportunities when the project is 100% completed."

8.7 km of smooth traffic and over 80 m of "bottleneck"
However, this beautiful road is facing a paradox near its end. According to a report from the Project Management Board No. 1, the project is now basically open to traffic, with 8.7 out of 8.9 km of the roadbed completed; the asphalt concrete surface has also reached approximately 82%. Reporters observed that important items such as the drainage system and retaining walls are being completed rapidly. However, this hurried pace has unexpectedly stalled near the end of the route. Here, a large number of machines are concentrated on the construction site, but construction is progressing at a slow pace. Ironically, one household has yet to agree to hand over the land. Furthermore, an electricity pole remains obstructing the road, directly affecting the synchronized roadbed construction.
At this bottleneck, despite the large concentration of machinery, all operations are confined to a narrow area, digging and leveling within the assigned site. A thick cloud of red dust blankets a short section at the end of the route, creating a "silent pause" throughout the overall project.
Mr. Nguyen Sy Hien - Site Commander (of Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company No. 18) said: “The unit has mobilized maximum equipment and personnel, ready to work to complete the project on schedule. However, this section is still facing land clearance issues and the power poles have not yet been relocated, so we are waiting anxiously.”
Determined to open the route
Recognizing the importance of the project in connecting famous tourist areas (such as Suoi Vang Lake and Golden Valley) and the high-tech agricultural zone, provincial leaders and local authorities are actively involved.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Ngoc Hiep directly instructed the Provincial Land Fund Development Center to closely coordinate with the People's Committee of Lang Biang Ward, Da Lat City, to review and continue to persuade the remaining households to hand over the land as soon as possible.
On the part of the local authorities, Mr. Hoang Xuan Hai - Head of the Economic , Infrastructure and Urban Planning Department of Lang Biang Ward, Da Lat - affirmed: “The majority of people agree and clearly understand the great benefits that the road will bring. The ward has been actively coordinating with the project management board to definitively resolve any outstanding issues regarding compensation; at the same time, we will continue to coordinate with the project management board to persuade the remaining households and will organize enforcement according to regulations for those who deliberately refuse to comply, for the common good, to ensure the strict enforcement of the law and the progress of the project.”
The remaining 80 meters of road are a test of the political system's determination and the people's consensus. The 400 billion VND project cannot be delayed because of one household. People are hoping that the Cam Ly - Phuoc Thanh "bottleneck" will be cleared before the rainy season to unlock development.
