Captain Nguyen Danh Nguyen, along with the local youth union, visited and presented gifts to Chăm ethnic leaders on the occasion of National Border Guard Day.
Born in 1995 in the academically-minded province of Ha Tinh, this young man self-studied and passed the entrance exam to the Border Guard Academy. Graduating in 2017, he held the rank of lieutenant and was assigned to the Border Guard of An Giang province. After a period of training and serving in various positions, in 2024 he was appointed Team Leader of the Mass Mobilization Team at the Long Binh Border Gate Border Guard Post.
The border area is inherently complex, and the lives of the people are still fraught with difficulties. Aware of this challenge, the young team leader proactively listened to instructions from superiors and sought out local authorities and organizations for coordination. In particular, he dedicated considerable time to interacting and conversing with elders and influential figures in the area to gain their support and input.

Captain Nguyen Danh Nguyen shared: "On my first day taking up my post here, I determined that to successfully complete my nhiệm vụ, I must first strengthen propaganda and mobilization efforts to encourage people to abide by the law. I must ensure that the people agree with the law, stay away from social evils, not abet smuggling, and mobilize the strength of the entire population to participate in reporting crimes."
He made the most of his time and resources to learn about the customs and traditions of the local people, always respecting their freedom of religion, and behaving and communicating appropriately according to each individual and age group, with the motto "Eat together, live together, work together" to be close to the people. As a result, he always received the support of local organizations and influential people.
Bearing in mind President Ho Chi Minh's teachings on mass mobilization work: "Listen to what the people say, speak in a way the people understand, and act in a way the people trust," the young team leader always uses the people's trust and affection as the measure of all his actions. Over the years, his footprints have been imprinted throughout the area.
To make legal knowledge such as the National Border Law or border regulations and agreements easier to understand, Comrade Nguyen proactively coordinated with local authorities to organize community meetings, activities, and lively "Borderland Lessons."
The image of the border guard soldier, seen in programs like "Shelter for the Poor," "Children Adopted by Border Guard Posts," or "Helping Children Go to School," has become familiar to the local people. This companionship and sharing has awakened the strength of the people's hearts, encouraging them to actively participate in self-management of the border and boundary markers, and together build a new, more civilized and prosperous life.

Mr. Nam Gia, a respected figure among the Cham ethnic community in Khanh Binh commune, said: "Nguyen has earned the affection of the local people. He explains things clearly, helps people repair their houses, and effectively promotes dengue fever prevention and control in the area."
“Not only is Comrade Nguyen skilled in community outreach, but he is also responsible, close to his comrades, and always takes the lead in all of the unit's tasks. In addition, he actively promotes cultural and sports activities, thus leaving a deep impression on the local government and people,” commented Lieutenant Colonel Huynh Huu Hoa, Political Officer of the Long Binh Border Gate Border Guard Station.
During his time in service, Captain Nguyen Danh Nguyen demonstrated the capabilities of a military officer, skillfully carrying out civilian outreach work and upholding the qualities of a soldier of Uncle Ho's army.
For his contributions to border peace, Comrade Nguyen Danh Nguyen has received numerous commendations and certificates of merit from leaders and commanders at all levels, and has been recognized as a Party member who has successfully completed his duties and as an advanced soldier for many consecutive years.
