As previously reported, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency has initiated legal proceedings and temporarily detained Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh (also known as model Ngoc Trinh, 34 years old) on charges of "Disrupting public order" as stipulated in Article 318 of the Penal Code.

Simultaneously, the police initiated criminal proceedings and issued a travel ban against Tran Xuan Dong (36 years old, residing in District 4) for the crimes of "Using forged documents of an agency or organization" and "Disrupting public order" as stipulated in Articles 314 and 318 of the Penal Code. To date, the Ho Chi Minh City Police have clarified the relevant details.

The incident involving model Ngoc Trinh and her videos of her riding a motorbike dangerously while letting go of the handlebars, which have been widely shared in recent days, has caused public outrage.

During the investigation and questioning by task forces from the Thu Duc City Police, the Road and Rail Traffic Police Department, and the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency (Ho Chi Minh City Police), Ngoc Trinh admitted to all the violations as reflected in the videos on social media.

Ngoc Trinh revealed that she has a passion for large-displacement motorcycles, so she hired Tran Xuan Dong as a driving instructor in order to pass her A2 driving test in the near future. They chose quiet roads to practice on, and when feeling enthusiastic, Ngoc Trinh would ride alone or, together with Dong, they would navigate busy roads.

Ngoc Trinh stated, "I never imagined I would be violating the law so seriously."

The police clarified, and Ngọc Trinh herself stated, that during her training sessions with her instructor, her manager and housekeeper accompanied her to provide support and film the training.

Afterward, Ngoc Trinh's team edited the footage, and Ngoc Trinh herself uploaded the clips to her personal social media accounts: TikTok "Ngoc Trinh" (with 6.8 million followers) posted 5 videos related to her driving a large-displacement motorcycle with provocative and dangerous maneuvers on September 24-28 and October 2-6-8; Facebook "Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh (The girl who eats out - with over 3.1 million followers)" and the Fanpage "NGOC TRINH" (currently with 2.7 million likes; 5.9 million followers) posted 1 video showing Ngoc Trinh driving a large-displacement motorcycle and having an accident resulting in a leg injury.

Ngoc Trinh and Dong stated that the videos on social media, as mentioned above, were not intended for advertising purposes for large-displacement motorcycle brands. Ngoc Trinh's intention, being a celebrity, was to create an image and promote herself on social media.

Investigators believe that Ngoc Trinh is a social influencer with millions of followers on her personal social media accounts, and therefore, posting and distributing the aforementioned video clips negatively impacts public order and safety, and adversely affects the awareness, lifestyle, and cultural behavior of young people.

The Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency continues to conduct investigations and verifications in accordance with regulations to promptly clarify the entire case, the criminal acts of Tran Thi Ngoc Trinh, Tran Xuan Dong, and other related individuals, in order to thoroughly and strictly handle them according to the law.
