Zinchenko is venturing into eSports. |
Zinchenko continues to attract attention in the sports world by expanding his activities into the field of esports in an unprecedented way. The Ajax defender has just been registered by Passion UA – the team he founded – to compete in Counter-Strike 2 at the IEM Atlanta tournament.
This is one of the major tournaments in the international competition system, bringing together many top teams. It is rare for a professional football player to appear on the official matchday squad list.
According to the regulations, Zinchenko will serve as a reserve player. This means he can directly play if one of the five main members experiences health issues or visa problems.
In fact, Zinchenko is not an unfamiliar name to the gaming community. He is the founder of Passion UA, with the goal of developing young Ukrainian talents in the context of a country affected by conflict.
Initially taking on an executive role, this player is now ready to take on technical duties when needed.
However, Zinchenko's top priority remains football. He plays for Ajax and is an important member of the Ukrainian national team. In several previous live streams, Zinchenko showed decent gaming skills, enough to inspire confidence in a backup role.
This information quickly spread on social media. Fans expressed their excitement at Zinchenko's appearance.
On February 15th, Zinchenko made his debut for Ajax in the Eredivisie match against Fortuna Sittard. However, his debut lasted just over two and a half minutes.
Following a collision with Dimitrios Limnios, Zinchenko fell to the ground clutching his left knee in pain. He is currently unable to return to play, causing great concern among the Dutch club's fans.
