Musical "Fire from the Earth" returns to the capital's audience on April 30

“Fire from the Earth” – The musical about the life and revolutionary career of comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu – the first official Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee will continue to be performed by the Youth Theater at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace, Hanoi at 8:00 p.m. on April 26, 2025.

The musical "Fire from the Earth" is an artistic work performed by the Youth Theater in coordination with the Hanoi Party Committee and the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Hanoi Party Committee (March 17, 1930 - March 17, 2025).

The work had two successful performances in March 2025 and on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), "Fire from the Earth" will return to the capital audience on the evening of April 26, 2025.

The musical “Fire from the Earth” is an epic about Hanoi in the 1930s, about young people who sacrificed their youth and personal happiness to follow the revolutionary ideal. The play recreates the life and revolutionary career of comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu - the first official Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, depicting the journey from a loyal soldier, growing up during the resistance war, to becoming a brave and intelligent leader, dedicating himself to the cause of building the capital and the country.

Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu was born in 1908 in Hanoi and joined the revolution very early. In 1929, he joined the Indochinese Communist Party and participated in the Northern Regional Party Committee. In June 1930, he officially held the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. In December 1930, he was arrested by the French colonialists and brutally tortured at Hoa Lo Prison. Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu sacrificed his life in early 1932, when he was nearly 24 years old. Although his revolutionary life was not long, it was associated with very vibrant and important activities at historical turning points of the nation. He was a typical example of patriotism, indomitable fighting spirit, and not afraid of sacrifice for the ideal of gaining independence, freedom and national liberation.

The musical “Fire from the Earth” features the participation of prominent faces in the Vietnamese music and dance scene with the ability to act, sing and dance such as: Le Viet Anh, Tran Viet, Trung Hieu, Duong Minh Anh, Pham Van Tho. The play especially features Meritorious Artist Thanh Tam playing the role of Mrs. Dam Thi - the mother of comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu. The work also features two talented young artists from the Vietnam National Opera and Ballet Theatre: artist Dinh Khanh as Ong Toan - the father of comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu and Bui Trang as Thuy - the girlfriend of comrade Nguyen Ngoc Vu.

The musical “Fire from the Earth” is an epic of faith, love for the Fatherland and the desire for peace of generations of fathers and brothers who have devoted their youth, passion and life to the ideal of independence and freedom. The work has contributed to spreading the revolutionary spirit, fostering national pride and inspiring generations of Vietnamese people, especially the young generation today and tomorrow.
