In his opening remarks, Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of the ward, shared that President Ho Chi Minh always advised, "For the benefit of ten years, plant trees; for the benefit of a hundred years, cultivate people."
Following President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, the tree-planting movement on his birthday, first organized in 1959, has since spread throughout the country, becoming a fine tradition that brings immense benefits, contributing to environmental protection and building an increasingly green, clean, and beautiful landscape.

Mr. Nguyen Duy Hung, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Hung Thuan Ward, launched the tree planting ceremony.

Uncle Ho's teachings have become even more profound and relevant than ever in the current context, where rapid industrial development has led to pollution, the greenhouse effect, and global climate change, harming human health and altering nature.
"More than ever, developing green spaces to help balance the ecological environment is extremely important and urgent. Planting, caring for, and protecting trees is not only the responsibility of state agencies, but also the shared responsibility of the entire society," Mr. Hung emphasized.

With that practical purpose in mind, representatives from Dong Hung Thuan ward called on all residents to actively participate in the movement, directly planting trees in alleyways, residential areas, gardens, and homes. The goal is for each neighborhood to plant and maintain at least two trees, and for each resident to voluntarily plant and care for one tree.

Leaders and residents of Dong Hung Thuan ward, Ho Chi Minh City, participate in planting trees at the park.
For alleyways and streets without sidewalks or where planting woody trees is not feasible, research and develop models of artistic "green walls" on fences or planting ornamental plants in the grounds; encourage organizations and individuals to prioritize planting trees with wide canopies suitable for urban spaces.
In response to the launching ceremony, on the same morning, leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of the ward, members of political and social organizations, and a large number of people participated in planting trees at the park of the An Suong residential area project.
