Avoiding responding to information?

Previously, Nguoi Dua Tin published an article titled "Dong Nai: Many constructions operating illegally on agricultural land," reflecting on the fact that in Long An commune, Long Thanh district, many constructions have been operating illegally on agricultural land for many years, and have yet to be definitively dealt with.

To obtain a more comprehensive perspective, the phóng viên (reporter) of Người Đưa Tin contacted the Long An Commune People's Committee several times, but has yet to receive any official response.

Specifically, the reporter scheduled a meeting with the Long An Commune People's Committee regarding the above matter. At the meeting, the Commune People's Committee announced that the Chairman had assigned Mr. Ly Minh Long – the Vice Chairman – to handle the case.

Subsequently, the reporter contacted Mr. Ly Minh Long – Vice Chairman of Long An commune – several times, but only received the familiar responses: "I'm too busy, I can't handle it yet," "I'm busy in a meeting, I'll handle it and respond later"...

To date, after more than a month of contact, the reporter has still not received notification of the work schedule or any official response regarding the request to work with the Long An Commune People's Committee.

The illegally constructed buildings continue to operate undisturbed, posing numerous safety risks. Meanwhile, local authorities are trying to evade responsibility and avoid providing information to the reporters.

The factory area, named KCTC Logistics Center & Bonded Warehouse (Long Thanh Warehouse and Logistics Joint Stock Company), was built on agricultural land and is still operating without a permit.

Regarding the issue of illegal and unauthorized construction projects in Dong Nai province, Mr. Nguyen Hong Linh, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Secretary of the Dong Nai Provincial Party Committee, has directed relevant departments and agencies to actively conduct inspections, promptly detect and prevent illegal and non-compliant construction, and avoid prolonging the process to prevent potential disruption of planning and negative impacts on socio- economic development.

Mr. Linh emphasized: "Any chairman of the People's Committee of a commune, ward, or town who allows illegal or unauthorized construction to occur will be severely punished. When illegal constructions occur, it indicates that the official is incompetent or has been rendered ineffective. If they are not replaced, the strict enforcement of the law will no longer be demonstrated."

It needs to be clarified and dealt with severely.

According to Mr. HVK (residing in Long An commune, Long Thanh district), about six months ago, he built some small structures on land used for perennial crops, such as a canopy and a toilet, on a small plot of land near his house.

Shortly afterwards, Mr. K. was asked by the commune authorities to dismantle the illegal structure built on agricultural land. He complied and dismantled it immediately.

The Hung Hoa factory complex of Hong Phuong Trang Co., Ltd. is operating on agricultural land.

Mr. K. expressed his frustration, wondering why, near his house, there are many factories spanning thousands of square meters, concrete plants, etc., all built and operating on agricultural land, yet no one has ordered their demolition or forced removal for so many years. Why does the local government only request Mr. K. to demolish his illegal structures, while the other unauthorized constructions near his house remain untouched?

On April 9th, Nguoi Dua Tin (The Informer) reported on a series of illegal and unauthorized construction projects that had previously been reported to the Long An Commune People's Committee, and which are still operating, such as: the factory area named KCTC Logistics Center & Bonded Warehouse (Long Thanh Warehouse and Logistics Joint Stock Company), Long An concrete factory (Long Thanh Concrete Co., Ltd.), a massive construction project on paddy land (at plot number 65, map sheet number 57 in Long An commune), Tam Tri Hung iron yard, Hung Hoa factory area, Hong Phuong Trang Co., Ltd., etc.

The Long An concrete plant (Long Thanh Concrete Company Limited) was built on agricultural land.

Notably, in addition to construction violations, the operation of these unauthorized and illegal factories and structures poses numerous safety risks, negatively impacts the environment, and fails to meet fire safety requirements.

In particular, the number of fires and explosions in Dong Nai province has been steadily increasing recently, causing significant property damage, with many incidents being serious in nature.

This has caused public outrage, and many questions have been raised about why these factories and structures were built illegally and without permits without any action being taken by the government and relevant authorities.

And when will the local authorities and relevant agencies finally deal with the illegal and unauthorized constructions in Long An commune?

The News Reporter will continue to provide updates.
