Recreating the "rhythm of happiness" of Vietnamese people in the heart of Hanoi

On the afternoon of November 27, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) chaired and coordinated with the Hanoi People's Committee to hold a press conference to introduce Vietnam Happy Fest 2025.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Pham Anh Tuan - Director of the Department of Grassroots Information and External Information, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the Festival will take place from December 5 to 7, 2025 at the Hoan Kiem Lake Walking Street, where people and tourists can "walk, touch and feel happiness in every moment".

"Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 is not only a community activity but is designed as a journey to discover happiness, spreading the message of an Independent - Free - Happy Vietnam," Mr. Tuan emphasized.

This year, the program includes 13 multi-layered experiences, recreating many perspectives on happiness across generations, from family memories, shared moments to human-to-human connections.

Notably, the series of activities under the "Happy Vietnam - Happy Vietnam" media award, where nearly 40,000 photos and videos have been submitted from 2023 to present, contributing to creating a rich archive of documents about the image of the country and people of Vietnam.

Mr. Tuan also informed that in 2025, Vietnam will increase 8 places, ranking 46th in the world in the happiness rankings, not just a number, but also a testament to the positive values spreading from people's lives and the country's humane policies.

The work "Vietnam in Me" won an award at Vietnam Happy Fest 2024, capturing meaningful everyday moments and the happy spirit of Vietnamese people.

The event space is arranged along the streets of Le Thai To - Hang Khay - Dinh Tien Hoang - Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square, leading attendees through 13 experience points simulating 13 different emotional rhythms: from the exhibition "Happy Vietnam", digital interactive space, art areas, photobooths, to the happiness map, the "Sending happiness to tomorrow" area, the "Sharing happiness" activity, the outdoor program "Health is happiness",... and the highlight is the Happiness broadcaster area.

All are connected into a common flow, telling the story that happiness is present in the smallest things of Vietnamese life.

At the Ly Thai To Monument area, the "Happiness Tree" is considered a special stop, where people and tourists can write their wishes, gratitude or wishes to hang on the tree as "seeds of kindness". The organizers said they will give away 80,000 souvenirs here as a gift of gratitude to the community.

The festival also features many inspirational activities. On December 7, the Vietnamese costume parade "Bach Hoa Bi Hanh" is expected to attract about 800 people in traditional costumes to walk through Hanoi's Old Quarter, aiming to set a record for the number of people wearing Vietnamese costumes participating in the parade.

Meanwhile, the "Happiness Prism" Workshop taking place on December 6-7 opens a space for art lovers to listen to experts, practice photography and spread the value of visual arts, towards the photo and video contest on human rights Vietnam Happiness 2026.

The opening ceremony took place on the evening of December 6 at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square with the participation of leaders of ministries and branches, opening the 3-day journey of Vietnam Happy Fest 2025.

In particular, the mass wedding ceremony of 80 couples with the theme "Couple Day - Love is Happiness" is considered the symbolic highlight of the Festival, symbolizing the 80-year journey of Independence - Freedom - Happiness of the nation.

"Not just for young couples, weddings also honor couples who have been together for 15, 30 or 50 years – the lasting and emotional Silver, Gold, Diamond love.

The organizers will give the couples many meaningful gifts such as makeup, wedding dresses, wedding flowers, round-trip domestic air tickets, a 2-day-1-night vacation and a special gift set as a blessing for their marriage journey. The program will take place from 7:30 to 11:30 on December 6 in the Hoan Kiem Lake area," Mr. Tuan added.

The organizers expect that Vietnam Happy Fest 2025 will attract 200,000 to 300,000 direct participants at Hoan Kiem Lake walking street and reach about 1 million people online.
