On the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), many historical sites in Hung Yen province bearing the President's footprints and preserving images of his mother have become popular destinations attracting large numbers of people and tourists to offer incense, visit, and learn about history. These destinations not only contribute to the education of revolutionary traditions but also affirm the appeal of heritage tourism – a type of tourism rich in humanistic values and cultural identity.

These days, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Dai Dong residential area, Thai Binh ward, welcomes many visitors from within and outside the province. Amidst the peaceful surroundings, the simple thatched house, preserved almost in its original state, evokes memories of President Ho Chi Minh's last visit to Thai Binh (now Hung Yen province) on December 31, 1966. Bringing her family to visit the site, Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen from Hanoi confided: "Hearing stories about President Ho Chi Minh and seeing his relics firsthand, I was truly moved. This is not just a sightseeing trip, but also an opportunity for my children to better understand our national history and to be more grateful to the previous generation."
The Ho Chi Minh Memorial House was classified as a national historical and cultural relic in 1986. It served as an evacuation site for the Thai Binh Provincial Party Committee during the resistance war against the US. During his visit on December 31, 1966, President Ho Chi Minh stayed overnight here and worked with local leaders. The house currently preserves hundreds of documents and images about President Ho Chi Minh's visits to the "5-ton homeland." Artifacts such as the bed he slept on, the wooden table and chairs, and the wooden boat that once took him across the Tra Ly River are carefully preserved, reminding us of his deep affection for the local people.
Comrade Bui Trung Hieu, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department of Thai Binh Ward, said: Today, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House historical site has become a destination rich in historical and cultural value, attracting a large number of visitors, especially the younger generation. Activities such as offering incense, reporting achievements, and admitting new members to the Youth Union are regularly organized here, contributing to the education of revolutionary traditions, fostering patriotism and responsibility towards the homeland.
During the historic month of May, many people visit the Hoang Thi Loan Memorial House in Van Noi village, Viet Tien commune, to commemorate the mother of President Ho Chi Minh – the mother who gave birth to and raised the beloved leader of the Vietnamese nation. The memorial house was built in 2003 and was classified as a provincial-level historical relic in 2023. The site currently preserves many images and documents about Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan, the Hoang family, and artifacts related to President Ho Chi Minh. The memorial house serves as a meaningful place for traditional education for the younger generation. Through the documents, artifacts, and stories about Mrs. Hoang Thi Loan's life and President Ho Chi Minh's family, young people and youth union members gain a deeper understanding of the sacrifices and hard work of Vietnamese mothers, thereby appreciating the beautiful traditional values of their families and becoming more conscious in their studies and training.
In addition to the aforementioned prominent destinations, the province also boasts numerous historical sites that preserve the image of the nation's beloved leader, such as: the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Area in Nhu Quynh commune; the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House in Pho Hien ward; and temples dedicated to Ho Chi Minh in the communes of Nam Cuong, Dong Chau, and Le Quy Don... Each location is associated with stories and memories of President Ho Chi Minh, contributing to a system of historically and culturally significant "red addresses" in the homeland.

From historical sites preserving images, memories, and affections of President Ho Chi Minh for his homeland, tours and historical tours in the province attract a large number of visitors, especially the younger generation. While previously this type of tourism was mainly for veterans, families of fallen soldiers, or relatives of martyrs, it has now become a journey of historical experience and learning that many young people are interested in. In early May, Do Quynh Mo from Tien Lu commune took her university classmates to visit several historical sites related to President Ho Chi Minh in Hung Yen. Through the stories and artifacts at the sites, Mo and her friends gained a deeper understanding of President Ho Chi Minh's affection for his homeland, thus fostering greater pride and appreciation for national history, and inspiring them to strive for better academic performance.
In May, a journey to the historical sites bearing the image of President Ho Chi Minh in his hometown of Hung Yen is not only an opportunity to learn about history but also helps each person to deeply appreciate the simple life, self-sacrifice, and immense patriotism of our beloved Uncle Ho - the Father of the Nation. From the stories, artifacts, and memories preserved at these sites, the tradition of patriotism, national pride, and a sense of responsibility towards the homeland continue to be nurtured and spread among present and future generations.
