Must-see destinations

When visiting Singapore, tourists simply can't miss checking in at iconic landmarks like Marina Bay Sands or Sentosa Island.

Marina Bay Sands is a business and resort complex featuring three luxurious 55-story towers. It houses bustling shopping malls with 300 stores and a state-of-the-art casino spanning 15,000 square meters.

In particular, Marina Bay Sands is located near Merlion Park, home to the Merlion statue – the symbol of Singapore. The 70-ton, 8.7-meter-tall sea lion statue spouts a stream of water towards Marina Bay, creating a picturesque scene. The statue faces east, signifying prosperity for the island nation. The Merlion is Singapore's national mascot, easily recognizable whenever its name is mentioned.

Sentosa Island is Singapore's fourth largest island. Although the name Sentosa means peaceful and quiet, the entire island is a vibrant entertainment complex, combining a heritage center and a nature park. Sentosa boasts a 2-kilometer-long beach, and each year the island expands slightly into the sea due to unique constructions designed and built by tourism investors.

Located on Sentosa Island, the SEA Aquarium is a marine park complex showcasing over 100,000 marine creatures belonging to 800 species and more than 20,000 types of coral. The aquarium also boasts the world's longest lazy river (620m) and the world's largest collection of stingrays. Visitors will be overwhelmed by the scale of the large tanks, which house a vast array of marine life coexisting together.

The land of "green lungs"

Renowned as one of the greenest, cleanest, and most beautiful island nations in the world, Singapore boasts an abundance of stunning green parks. Visiting and relaxing in the fresh, cool air under the lush green trees is a wonderful experience that Singapore's nature offers to international tourists.

First and foremost is the Botanic Gardens – Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage site, recognized in 2015. It is one of the largest and oldest botanical gardens to date, and is considered a green lung in the heart of Singapore. In contrast to the hustle and bustle of the city, the Botanic Gardens offers visitors a sense of peace, tranquility, and the perfect beauty of nature. The Botanic Gardens is divided into five smaller gardens, allowing visitors to explore each and learn about different plant species.

The most popular attraction here is the National Orchid Garden, home to thousands of orchid species known as Very Important Plants (VIPs). Notably, over 200 hybrid orchid species in this garden have been named after heads of state or leaders who have visited Singapore.

Next is MacRitchie Reservoir, one of the most beautiful green parks in the island nation. Established in 1867, the park boasts a vast natural garden teeming with diverse wildlife. Visitors can stroll along the 11-kilometer trail through the rainforest or enjoy kayaking and canoeing. The best time to visit is early morning, when the air is cool and fresh. Especially enjoyable is strolling across the famous Treetop Walk (250m long) to relax, admire the panoramic views of the park, and gaze through the lush rainforest below.

Unlike the two "gardens" mentioned above, Rainforest Lumina is a place that combines technology with nature. True to its reputation as a technologically advanced nation, Singapore knows how to apply technology to offer visitors a multi-sensory journey, immersing them in both nature and technology at Rainforest Lumina, the newest attraction within the Singapore Zoo.

Here, visitors will embark on an interactive virtual journey along a 1km night walking trail, immersing themselves in a space of light, sound, and nature characteristic of more than 10 different tropical forests. Although there are no real animals, the lighting, music, visuals, and interactive features will make your journey through the tropical forest incredibly vivid and impressive.
