Photo: Tran Chau The lake, with a total area of 53 hectares, including 40 hectares of water surface, is one of the components of the Vinh Urban Development Sub-project. The lake was constructed and put into use in 2017. Currently, it serves as a recreational and sports area for many people, while also opening up new land for development around the lake for the city. Beside the lake is the Ho Chi Minh Monument (Nguyen Tat Thanh Park), and it is an important recreational area of the city. Photo: Quang An Cua Nam Lake is located within the Cua Nam Tourist Area. The lake has two sections, a southern and a northern section, with the southern section situated next to Can Linh Pagoda – a thousand-year-old pagoda in Nghe An province. (Photo: Archival material) Besides the lakes and important parks, we cannot overlook the Lam River and Vinh River, which run along the city's outskirts. These two rivers are crucial, providing water for daily life and drainage, while also becoming attractive destinations for tourists and city residents, especially during the summer. Photo: QA The North Canal, a section flowing through Hung Loc commune, Vinh City, serves to drain water and contribute to climate regulation. Besides lakes, Vinh City also boasts Dung Quyet Mountain with 56 hectares of pine and mixed forest, and small parks such as Cua Nam Park and Cua Bac Park (also known as Fountain Park), bordering three wards: Le Loi, Hung Binh, and Quang Trung. The city will also have a second regulating lake in Hung Hoa commune, with a planned area of 137 hectares.
