According to Tran Thi Dieu Hien, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Vinh Hanh commune, the "Women's Creative Entrepreneurship" support program and the "Women Helping Each Other Develop Economically " movement are key activities implemented by the union in recent times. Through many specific solutions, the union has helped many members and women raise their awareness, change their way of thinking and doing things, and boldly develop their family economies. Ms. Dieu Hien said: "From the beginning of 2026, the Women's Union of Vinh Hanh commune proactively reviewed the number of poor and near-poor women members and poor households headed by women to develop appropriate support plans. These specific and practical actions have contributed to helping many women gradually rise out of poverty sustainably."
In Vinh Phuc hamlet, Vinh Hanh commune, there is a flower-growing cooperative with over 20 members, mostly women. The members cultivate over 2 hectares of various flowers such as marigolds, tiger chrysanthemums, and Dalat chrysanthemums, primarily for the Lunar New Year and major full moon festivals throughout the year. Besides flower cultivation, many households also utilize the land to grow vegetables to supplement their income. Ms. Tran Thi Y, head of the Vinh Phuc Flower-Growing Cooperative, said that thanks to regular training courses and technology transfer in flower cultivation organized by the local authorities, members have gained more knowledge to expand their farming scale and improve their family's economic efficiency.
In addition to providing technical support, the Women's Union of Vinh Hanh commune also facilitates access to preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank and other credit institutions for poor and near-poor women to invest in livestock farming, production, and business. The Union encourages its members to build various local fundraising models such as revolving capital groups, women's economic groups, women's groups producing safe vegetables, and savings groups using piggy banks… With loan capital and knowledge gained from training courses, many members have boldly applied science and technology to production, helping them rise out of poverty and stabilize their lives.
With the support of the Women's Union of Vinh Hanh commune, many female members in the commune have boldly started their own businesses. Using her family's savings and a loan of 100 million VND from the Social Policy Bank, Ms. Nguyen Thi Hieu, residing in Vinh Nhuan hamlet, boldly converted 8,000m² of low-yield rice land to durian cultivation. After nearly 5 years of care, Ms. Hieu's durian orchard yielded its first harvest with a production of over 6 tons. Ms. Hieu shared that, in addition to receiving preferential loans from the Social Policy Bank, she also regularly received encouragement and support from the Women's Union officials and was given the opportunity to participate in training courses on fruit tree cultivation techniques to care for her family's durian orchard. Ms. Hieu said: "This year, the price of durian is not high, and the profit is not yet much, but after this harvest, I will accumulate more experience to improve the productivity and quality of durian for the following seasons."
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Hien stated that the enthusiasm, dynamism, and creativity of the association's staff have contributed to changing perceptions, helping members and women actively participate in economic development and sustainable poverty reduction. This is also a driving force for the women's movement in the locality to develop even more strongly.
In the coming period, the Women's Union of Vinh Hanh commune will continue to maintain and expand savings models and support each other in developing family economies. The Union will coordinate with relevant departments and local authorities to promote vocational training, job creation, and facilitate access to preferential loan sources, helping members and women increase their income.
