Close to the people, attentive to their needs.
Previously, Vinh Phu hamlet in Binh An commune faced many difficulties, with a high poverty rate, some roads in disrepair, and unstable living conditions for its residents. Since Ms. Huynh Thi Phuong was elected as the hamlet's Party Secretary, the atmosphere in the hamlet has gradually improved. What the people appreciate about her is not only her quick wit and gentle smile, but also her approach of "going from street to street, knocking on every door" to listen to and understand the concerns of the people. Prior to this, Ms. Phuong served as the hamlet's team leader for five years. In 2024, she was re-elected by Party members to the position of Party Secretary. In her new role, she clearly defines the responsibility of a leader as caring for the people's lives, using the people's consensus as a measure of work effectiveness.
Since assuming her new position, she has actively mobilized social resources to invest in infrastructure and implement social welfare programs. Notable examples include the upgrading of roads in Hamlet 2 and Hamlet 4, totaling 50 million VND; and the implementation of the "Lighting Up Rural Roads" model in Hamlets 6, 7 and 4, 5, with a budget of 20 million VND, contributing to ensuring security, order, and convenient transportation for residents. In addition, every year she coordinates the distribution of over 1,000 gifts to poor and near-poor households and families in difficult circumstances, spreading the spirit of mutual support within the community. Especially since becoming the Hamlet Party Secretary, she has mobilized resources to build three solidarity houses for households in particularly difficult circumstances.
Ms. Tran Thi Lan, residing in Vinh Phu hamlet, emotionally said: “Previously, my family lived in a temporary house, suffering greatly from rain and wind. Thanks to Ms. Phuong and the local authorities' efforts in mobilizing support, we now have a sturdy house, allowing my family to work with peace of mind and stabilize our lives. We are very grateful.” Not only did Ms. Phuong do a good job of mobilizing support, but she also acted as a bridge, helping many poor households access loans for production development. To date, the entire hamlet only has 2 poor households and 4 near-poor households. Ms. Phuong confided: “As the Party Secretary of the hamlet, the most important thing is to be close to the people and understand them. No matter how well you speak, if the people don't believe you, it's difficult to succeed.”
The nucleus of unity in Thanh Binh
Serving as the Party Branch Secretary of Thanh Binh hamlet, Giong Rieng commune from July 1, 2025 to the present, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Kieu has played a leading role and served as the center of unity for the branch. Having joined the Party in 2017 and worked in various local departments, she has accumulated experience in advising and organizing the implementation of tasks. Upon being assigned to the hamlet, she determined that Party building work must begin with conveying policies and guidelines to the people in a way that is easy to understand, remember, and follow.
Coming from a background as a commune-level propaganda officer, Ms. Kieu has leveraged her strengths in propaganda work. The entire Thanh Binh hamlet currently has 514 households. Ms. Kieu organized 30 propaganda sessions on the Party's guidelines, State policies and laws, focusing on issues related to elections, citizens' rights and obligations, with nearly 200 participants. These sessions were integrated into Party branch meetings and community gatherings, creating an atmosphere of democratic exchange and contributing to raising the people's political awareness. Ms. Kieu shared: "First, I must thoroughly understand the guidelines and policies, then convey them to the people in a way that is approachable and easy to understand. When the people understand and trust, the implementation of tasks will be more successful."
Thanks to the pivotal role of the Party branch and the sense of responsibility of its leader, in 2025, the Thạnh Bình Hamlet Party Branch was assessed as having excellently completed its tasks. Ms. Kiều has achieved outstanding performance for four consecutive years. Mr. Châu Hoàng Anh - Head of the Party Building Committee of Giồng Riềng Commune Party Committee, commented: “Comrade Nguyễn Thị Thúy Kiều is a grassroots cadre with a strong sense of responsibility, deeply involved in the local area, and effectively carries out the work of disseminating the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws to the people. In her position as Secretary of the Hamlet Party Branch, she effectively plays the role of a political nucleus at the grassroots level, contributing to maintaining unity among the people.”
Their gentle, approachable yet firm and decisive approach to work has made Ms. Phuong and Ms. Kieu reliable pillars of support for Party members and the people in the hamlet. Through concrete and practical actions, they have contributed to strengthening the political core role of the Party branch, building unity at the grassroots level, and creating a solid foundation for the sustainable development of the hamlet.
