Construction begins on the Ia Tchom 1 hydroelectric project.

(GLO) - On the morning of June 1st, at Khop village (Ia Grai commune, Gia Lai province), Phuc Tin 30/4 Joint Stock Company held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ia Tchom 1 hydropower project.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Ksor Phuoc - former member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Chairman of the National Assembly's Ethnic Council, former Minister and Chairman of the Committee for Ethnic Minorities Affairs, former Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee, and leaders of several departments and agencies of the province.

The project has a capacity of 9 MW, a total investment of 344 billion VND, and is being constructed on the Ia Tchom stream in the two communes of Ia Grai and Ia Krai. After commissioning, this hydropower plant will supply an average of approximately 35 million kWh/year to the national power grid.

In addition, the project contributes to regulating water resources for agriculture , minimizing flooding in downstream areas, generating stable budget revenue, and creating jobs for hundreds of local workers.

The investor commits to closely coordinating with the consulting and supervision units and the construction contractor to implement the project on schedule, ensuring technical, aesthetic and quality standards.

At the same time, we strictly adhere to regulations on occupational safety, fire prevention and control, environmental protection, and water source corridors. We always work alongside local authorities in social welfare activities, ensuring that the factory's development is linked to improving the lives of people in the project area.

The Ia Tchom 1 hydropower project is expected to be completed and officially operational in the third quarter of 2028.
